Privacy violation and more...
3 things I'd ask Yahoo to change:
I did not give to Yahoo my phone number, and I did not give any permission to show it publicly. Never. I even purposely keep my old fashion cell phone, and don't use in it the internet browser. So where and why did you get my phone number? And how can I remove it from my email account (can't find such option)? Yahoo is severely violating my privacy + is giving an opportunity to do that to all spams & etc. Please fix this situation.
Please keep old Emojis, as they were funny and well done. New ones are extremely ugly. Don't want to use them.
When in Compose window I type "To" email address, I'd prefer if Yahoo could show me email IDs from my personal contacts list only (not from all of the world).
Hope for better improvements.
Thank you.

Yahoo responded on a closed entry - not sure why they closed it since I still have questions about this. Here was their response:

The phone number is only visible to you.
It is not sent through email to people you are conversing with.

I have the same problem -- my old phone number is displayed on the contact card and all the tips for how to remove it refer to old versions of Yahoo. Yahoo is also closing down the comments on every person who posts this problem without helping them resolve it. Not a huge concern because that phone is AWOL... but my phone number still reveals geographic location via the area code, and not being able to remove it / not having ever given permission to display it is a rather large privacy violation.

I also have never given you my phone number and yet it is displayed on the contact card. I have written to customer care 4 times and get the same spiel over and over again that I'm the only one who can see it. I DON'T CARE. I NEVER gave my number to Yahoo so you have obtained it in an underhanded way. I want it removed from your system. Your system is not secure, I don't want you to have my phone number stored anywhere on Yahoo. Please remove it NOW.

Please stop having my phone number against my name. I noticed when I send emails, the phone number is there.

Me neither. This is a very important concern after what happened with Cambridge Analytica. I think yahoo does the same. They sell our private information, and IMO the information of our emails is more private that what you post on Facebook. I am really considering closing my yahoo account. I use it for many things but I am really afraid of this.

I don't remember my old password and cannot get into my account to change to a new password or to change my old phone number. Your questions and answers always sends me back to my old phone number, which I do not have access too.
