I'll have my yahoo mail in one tab and then looking at a youtube video in another when all of a sudden, random audio from an ad starts playing. So I have to pause my youtube video and low an behold, it's coming from my yahoo mail tab. So my solution? Kill my yahoo mail tab. I guess I didn't need it after all.
Nice job yahoo!

too many ******* ads! ESPECIALLY the ads that play video on the sidebar!
One ad at the top of my inbox...NOT HUGE! Inconspicuous and text only. If I choose to click through and look at it I do if not TOO BAD! I PERSONALLY CONSIDER THIS SPAM! But I also understand I have to put up with some ******** to use the service.

I now spend more time on MSN and will continue to do so if this and your stupid "new" e-mail doesn't stop bugging me.

we check our mail not to read ads. Therefore pl do not allow any body to enter my mail and upload rubbish ads. Because we need time to clear it.

Sometimes it distracts my attention looking for other items.

How does Yahoo expect to be taken seriously if they are going to play random noise without your permission. Very embarrassing when these mail ads start playing some bells or water noise on my work computer. (Not only are ads ineffective, I would stop buying a product if they advertised in that manner.) It's a race to the bottom with antics like this. Would be more upset if Yahoo wasn't just my junk email.

the audio ads pop up and start playing and can't be stopped since one cannot find the ad as it's buried in the jumble of other auto playing ads. used to be able to disable audio auto play. now there is almost no way to do that. technology has once more become an annoyance.

While I fully understand the need for advertising to maintain the service, when it comes at the expense of functionality it is no longer sustainable.
The random blasts of generic electronic music are not only annoying (they ARE annoying), but the load time means I'm not even seeing the advertisement they're supposed to be attached to. You are irritating all of your users AND offering zero benefit to your advertisers.

This is so annoying!!! I agree wholeheartedly with the original poster. Every time the ads start playing, I jump right out of my skin. I AM NOT LIKELY TO BUY ANYTHING FROM SOMEONE WHO STARTLES ME INTO A HEART ATTACK!!! STOP THIS!!! It is NOT attention grabbing. It is startling and disturbing. Doing this is a negative to any advertiser.

I hate the auto-playing audio ads, and now the video play is not working properly. We never used to have problems with audio and videos, so maybe you should consider changing back to the prior system. Also, there are no setting changes to select, just doesn't work for me!

I hate the audio ads that run in the background when I am checking my email. THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THEM OFF - at least not that I have discovered. It's one thing to be distracted by the video ads running along the side of the screen, but to also have to put up with audio ads that you can't do anything about is infuriating!
