Alphabetical Order
In ALL (contacts) the list is in alphabetical order. In LISTS (contacts) the names are in random order. Alphabetical order has been used for hundreds of years to search. It's still the best way.

Using first name is cumbersome. Alphabetizing by last name makes more sense for the user. It was an option previously and should not be difficult to initiate again.

I want my contacts listed alphabetically by first name, not by email. Others want them by email or last name. Why doesn't Yahoo give us the option to list OUR contacts the way we want to. This is not a good business practice and I want to see it changed back quickly or otherwise adios.

Suddenly my Contact list is organized by some strange process that I don't understand. I have names beginning with "M" at the bottom of my list. Before everything was organized alphabetically by first name.
Why the ^%^%# do you keep messing with things in Yahoo Mail? It gets worse every time. I've been fighting the urge to go to Google Gmail but I'm just about finished with you Yahoo morons and the **** you're doing.
Give us the option once again to organize our Contact list the way we want - alphabetically by email address, by last name, or by first name. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please put contacts in alphabetical order. Additional information about interaction with the contact is not necessary. Can you remove that please?

Go back to old method. Allow the user to choose between alpha sorting by last or first name which ever he chooses to do. Think about how users actually use the system before making changes. Or survey them before making such a major change.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! But I don't think it's possible any longer.
They didn't put in a last name field when they "improved" the email. Can't believe it. -

Absolutely!

When I click on contacts and go to the A's and there is a 22 more down arrow to click on those names are not in alphabetically order. For example there is the name Amy, but Aaron is in the 22 more area. Aaron comes before Amy.
I would like my contact list kept in alphabetically order. I don't want the names of those I email the most at the top of the contact list. Just keep them all in alphabetically order so I can find my contacts

I can now only access a contact list in Christian name order!!! Absolutely unworkable!! I fail to see how this can be an improvement/upgrade. Please alter the sort field as soon as possible.

I do not want the contacts list arranged alphabetical by first name, ridiculous. Please re-arrange as before by alphabetical surname.

I am pleased that my mail is mostly back in order; but there is still one annoying problem I've found: My lists are back in place but when I enter new contacts they do not appear with my former contact list. When I do a search of those new contacts, they are in there somewhere individually, but have not joined the larger group, making my "group" inaccurate.
Also, how about allowing the lists to appear alphabetically as before? That would be a nice touch.Thank you!

My contact were in alphabetical order by "first" name. I find them not in order and all of them don't show until I do drop downs. Please put it back the way it was!

Put my contacts in alpha order by last name, not first name. It is very hard to search for a contact in the new format. Also make it easier to edit contact info. If I want to send an email to a contact, I will click on compose and put that person's name/email in the To box. When I try to view or edit a contact's info, I invariably get the compose message screen.

Alphabetizing Contact Lists is a BASIC ORGANIZATIONAL MUST. Frankly I'm shocked this very basic function is not available.
