How can we improve New Mail?

Emails keep marking themselves as read no matter how many times I mark them as unread

Once an email has been MANUALLY marked as unread, it should STAY that way no matter how long or how many times you scroll around within it! This happens with all browsers and on all devices. Please fix this!
