Please revert to your old policy with regard to ads in Inbox. See comment below.
I understand that you are now using advertising to fund your email service, which I have used with pleasure since 2001 - that's 20 years! I first signed on before I began working overseas in Africa. Yahoo was my lifeline, and a very dependable mail resource that I loved – still love. Even my clients preferred it to their own internal email systems, and requested I contact them via Yahoo.
Overall, I have been extremely satisfied. However, there are ads that now show up in my Inbox, Sent Mail, etc., that I cannot delete, block, or otherwise divert. Because of this, the ads are becoming extremely irritable. For awhile I would give feedback (as per the ad instructions) regarding why I didn't like them. Some of them were even dating sites that resembled escort services.
I’m not sure why, but perhaps after giving enough negative feedback to the ads, they began to show up in my email and then disappear on their own after a brief period. This was acceptable to me, because I could view the ad if I was interested, or ignore it until it went away if I wasn’t. However, now they have started showing up and staying in my Inbox again. Please, please, can you go back to the previous policy? I don't mind if the ads show up and then disappear. But it is getting extremely irritating for me when they stay in my Inbox and clutter it up. I continue to give complaining feedback to you through the ad instructions about this issue. However, no matter what I do it doesn't seem fix the situation.
I have a backup Gmail account as well, that very nicely partitions ads away from my main Inbox under a separate category called "Promotions". Could you consider doing something like this? I recognize this is a small thing, but after a prolonged period, those small things begin to become much bigger than they should be. I'm actually considering changing over to Gmail as my main account, which is something I don't wish to do. I prefer Yahoo, but the way the advertising is handled is driving me to distraction.
I would greatly appreciate it if you return to the policy of making the ads disappear in my Inbox after remaining there long enough for me to view them if I’m interested. It seems like a reasonable compromise. You are able to continue to receive funding from ads that allow you to provide your wonderful and valuable email service, and I am not continually bothered by persistent and unrelenting advertising that for me has been blown up to be a very BIG thing.
I honestly love your email service. Please see if you can resolve this with the compromise that I described above (it worked fine before), and now, for some reason, has been discontinued. I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Truly.
