The new interface is deficient in a number of ways. It's poorly designed. The size of the inbox window was made unnecessarily smaller than the available screen space for the purpose of pure esthetic appeal. The color shades for dark mode are ill-chosen making it difficult to view the page in a relaxed manner. Last but not least, the highlighting scheme for read and unread messages is counterintuitive, and opposite of standard convention. All in all, a series of flagrant disregards for the principle of 'form follows function'. The previous version was far better that what your design team came up with this time. I am terribly disappointed at your lack of foresight, and will be looking for alternatives.
