New Yahoo Mail has too much wasted space

Yahoo mail is going the same as most other software developers these days, forcing us into a new interface that no one really wants that is more cumbersome and unappealing. Specifically one of my annoyances is that this new version has way too much wasted space on the screen. I don't care about that whole box on the right that has "starred/contacts/etc". At least give me the option to get rid of that and expand the mailbox window to the full page like the old Yahoo Mail was. And why not let us have themes how hard is that?
