[Chat/Message Boards] Message Board Removal Feedback
Feedback regarding the removal of message boards from Fantasy Baseball in the 2023 season.
Fantasy league message boards are not going to be available for the current season however you can still access historical message board posts through your fantasy profile. You can continue to communicate with your league via Fantasy Chat, email and commissioner notes. Moving forward we are investing in chat as the best place for league communication and will be adding threading, pinning, polls and more. We welcome your feedback below about how your league used message boards to help us make future improvements.

I will be leaving Yahoo Fantasy Sports for Baseball, and possibly football. When I realized you discontinued the messageboard, I went to FANTRAX instead for my baseball leagues. I have 7 pay leagues with them and none with Yahoo. I will never have another Fantasy Sports pay league with Yahoo because the messageboard is that important to have a successful league. Why you decided to do away with messageboard must be financial, but I guarantee you are going to lose more money than it cost you to run it. Terrible business decision by a terrible business!

Fwiw, while most leagues I know of are moving to Fantrax, I find Fleaflicker a lot easier to navigate so far. Trying to sort/analyze available players in Fantrax leagues is kind of a joke, and the site is prone to freezing and crashing.

RocknRef, Fantrax does have public leagues you can join actually. You just need to find them. They're listed on the site. There are several. I've joined a couple myself this year.
Try this link: https://www.fantrax.com/newui/publicLeagues.go?sport=MLB

FanTrax doesn't allow for people that don't know each personally to join each other's leagues. If they did, I would have been gone years ago.

The fact that this makes the browser based website useless seems very short sighted. Yes, for those on the app, chat might be an option but what about those that prefer to use the website and may not even have the app? Is there a way of bringing the chat into the browser based website?

FANTRAX has been a great platform since our move couple of weeks back from this sinking ship called Yahoo. Come on over.
It is free and tech support responds really quickly to any questions you have. Also it has a subject threaded Message Board and threaded chat (options for whole team, single person or small group of people). On laptop you can even toggle the chat to go full screen and look as big as a message board.
It is obvious Yahoo isn't bringing the Message Board here back so why is anybody waiting around here any more? Just move to Fantrax or another platform now.
And "moving" doesn't mean you physically move your league away from Yahoo so it remains here anyway. (More Copy and Paste then a "move"). So you still have it as a back-up if you want so you risk nothing by "moving" to a new platform.

yahoo blows.....thanks for ruining my fantasy baseball league. i have already established a new league on FANTRAX, which is VERY player friendly. deleting my worthless yahoo league as soon as everyone has joined FANTRAX. obviously these fools dont care or they would have acted by now since the uproar is crystal clear. first you censor and shadow ban on your "news" portion and now you've just gone completely stupid on the fantasy sports portion of the site. well done yahoo.....youve slit your own throat!

i dont see why it would be taken away in the first place but what is replacing it? On the app there is no way to communicate with the league. There is the chat portion but that doesn't work. I have to go on my computer and email the league. I don't know why i keep playing on yahoo, its a terrible platform with no customer support and ridiculous rules. Im just waiting for the day when a class action lawsuit comes out about the whole pick up a player in free agency and it alters your starting lineup for the next week.

Hey all---this Yahoo situation grows from bad to worse on a daily basis. In addition to removing the Message Board in our baseball leagues, Yahoo appears to have removed a category in current, on-going hockey leagues. Yahoo is no longer displaying the % Started in hockey leagues. No big deal I admit but I "tried" contacting Yahoo through the so-called Help Desk to inform them of this possible oversight for today's games. I was put in a waiting "Chat" queue and was the #1 customer in the queue but no Yahoo rep ever came on. After waiting 10 minutes I e-mailed Yahoo with this hockey inquiry. I immediately received a Yahoo survey, before and without a Yahoo rep ever responding. Needless to say, I blasted Yahoo in my survey, something Yahoo warrants by their total lack of customer service and uncaring attitude toward we customers. I believe Yahoo is setting the stage for getting out of the fantasy business. I know this is a baseball thread but just wanted to show that Yahoo's undisciplined business behavior has moved over to other Yahoo sports now also. Yahoo is totally useless now. By the way Yahoo, bring back the Message Board!!

All information about keepers and rules to the league should be in a message board because they can be reviewed anytime through out the year to plan the path of your team. This helps keep managers informed and more engaged

It's always embarrassing when a website basically breaks what's not broken (and thus not in need of fixing). Our message board PERFECTLY served our league's needs and functioned as a terrific archive of what is now a 23-season-old community. We could consult the message board for every rule change that was proposed or discussed, could archive which keeper choices were entered from one league to the next, etc. In short, NOTHING was wrong with this service. Why on earth would Yahoo feel the need to "fix" it? What would this make easier for your web dev folks? Are you doing anything OTHER than annoying longtime users of your platforms (who, like us I suspect, have remained loyal to Yahoo both because we've found Yahoo's service offerings helpful AND Yahoo hasn't previously opted to tamper with those service offerings)? Please don't change this. There is literally zero need to do so.

Please please pelase re-activate message boards. That is where I (commish) post important rules and player keeper lists and years of service info to be referenced all year (that would be lost in the league yahoo chat).

Did your company president go to the same school of business as Elon Musk?! The message boards are CRUCIAL for league communications. You are going to see a mass exodus from Yahoo to other formats!
Such a shame...Yahoo used to be the best.

BAD IDEA.
My league uses message board much, much more than the chat feature - which seems to only be available on the mobile app. When on my computer and your web page, there is no easy to interact with my managers without the message boards.
IF YOU ARE STILL GOING TO DO AWAY WITH MESSAGE BOARDS, please make it so the Commissioner Notes messages can be done using a RICH TEXT EDITOR. That way makes it much easier to highlight rules (e.g. league keeper rules).

Terrible decision. I love the social aspect of the message boards and writing weekly content for the league managers.
