Playoffs - Odd number of teams
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.
7-Team playoffs are now available with Yahoo Fantasy Commissioner Plus: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/started-yahoo-fantasy-commissioner-sln36403.html

Would be fun to follow the NFL here.

For 14 team leagues, allow 7 team playoffs where only the #1 seed gets a bye. Our league has been wanting this for years!

My suggestion is that I hope you guys can add the customization to the playoff format to more than just 4, 6, or 8 teams. The NFL is doing 7 teams per conference, with only the #1 seed overall getting the bye, and my league would love to do a 7 team playoff in our 12 team league. We all love the NFL and would love to be able to play our league like the NFL. Please take this into consideration for this year or next year. If we can get this done this year, it would be awesome. Thank you for your time.

week 14: 1st place gets bye, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5
week 15: 2 semifinal games with reseeding

How do you change the number of fantasy football playoff teams from 6 to 7?
-
Jessie Bain commented
Allowing us the option of using the new NFL Playoff format will help bring more realism to our fantasy football leagues.
1st seed bye
2v7
3v6
4v5 -

Still no option for 7 teams. Our league will be remaining at ESPN due to this. Shame.

So despite being the #1 thing yahoo users want, yahoo once again comes up short. Great job.

The NFL just extended playoff teams to 7. Yahoo should create an option for leagues to have a 7 team playoff where only the 1 seed gets a first round bye. Why not?

If the NFL plays this way, fantasy should have the option

The NFL now likely has 7 playoff teams. Can we have this option too?
Instead of the playoffs being matchup-dependent, how about top half of playoff scorers advance? So 2 of 4 go through with current system seeds 3-6 or 3 of 6 advance with proposed 2-7 seeds system. Thanks.

We have a ten team league, and the bottom two teams face off to avoid losing control of their team name for the next season. Currently, we just have to go to each team's page and check for ourselves to see how many points they put up. Please create a way for us to make this an actual matchup!

Agreed! This seems like a simple fix to the playoff settings.

Totally agree! a seven team playoff would solve many of our leagues issues. I'm sorry, but if Yahoo does not have a seven team playoff option by next year, we will be moving our league to espn.

I agree. I had this idea as well. It needs to be added ASAP. ESPN allows you to do it and I moved a league there for this exact reason. No other reason at all.

There should be an option where the top two teams from a league's regular season play a winner take all championship game in week 16. It's simple and not unreasonable for small leagues and puts extra emphasis on every regular season game.

Although rare, starters are benched in week 16. We want our leagues playoffs to end on week 15!

I'm in a 16 team league. I would like to have the option of 2 different playoffs where the top 6 have the traditional NFL playoffs with the top 2 division winners get a bye and a consolation bracket of the top 8. This would allow for top 14 to make the playoffs instead of top 12 and only the top two teams would get the bye. How would I go about doing this?

Jon Keske commented
Completely agree. Our 14 team league would love to do a 7 team playoff format but Yahoo won't allow it. I would have to manually make the 8th seed lose each year.

With a league of 14 teams, I want to have 7 teams make the playoffs w the reg season champ being awarded a bye. Why doesn't Yahoo allow this? It's either 6 or 8 teams.
