Drafts - Allow commissioner to make selections for other teams during a live draft.
This draft feature would allow commissioners to make selections for other teams when enabled. For example, if someone were to lose connection to the draft but was able to contact the commissioner, they could have the commissioner make the selection for them. Currently the commissioner can not make selections for other teams.

This caused huge issues during our draft. One manager got called into work and couldn't draft so wanted their friend to draft for them but never provided login information. We figured as the commissioner I could make sure they got the picks they wanted. Nope, no control whatsoever. Just watch helplessly as it auto drafts for them. Ohh but you can pause the draft. Great job. Couldn't undo the picks either because we had keepers and it wanted to undo all of our keepers later on in the draft also. Ridiculous. Support couldn't have cared less either. Switching to a different fantasy platform.

We were trying to run a Vampire league and the 12th team was to be the Vampire. Initially as the Commish, I was just going to manually skip those picks in the draft. When that wasn’t an option I could have drafted someone outside of the top 200 for them so as to not affect the rest of the draft. Neither are options and should be.
I also complicated the issue when he (a teenager and the Vampire team) asked if he had to stick around. I told him No then couldn’t get him back online. Please make this an option -

Great for offline/online combo drafts for entering offline draft results into yahoo.
Allow the Yahoo online draft picks to be run by commissioner so the commish could enter all offline picks in Yahoo -

highly important tired of auto drafting teams who dont show up to drafts in person. Have a feature that can allow teams who dont show up in person to log in live and make there picks during the draft times.

Slam dunk decision. This would help our league to bridge the gap between our offline, in-person draft and the occasional manager who cannot make it to the draft. We want to avoid a room full of laptops where we are physically present, but not interacting. So, we would be able to use the tech where we needed, but no further.

This was a major issue in our league as well. Someone could not make it last minute and it auto drafted for that team JK Dobbins. I could not adjust it at all.

The commissioner should be able to draft for players unable to make the online draft. We had a member become unavailable last minute and I as commish was unable to make his picks. The autodraft picked him 3 TE's and 2 DEF's which puts him in a bind for bench flex player depth. Other apps allow for more manager control and this make its hard to want to stick around with yahoo.

The Draft Board was great! It was very well received at my draft lastnight. If it could be done so that as the later rounds go on, it should be able to automatically scroll down as the rounds progress, as well as the team of the pic should he able to be seen too. Now as you manually scroll down, you loose the team with the pick up top. I would also like to be able to see the board full screen with out headers, chats, or anything else...just the board. Those additions would make it amazing

Couldn't agree with this concept any more. Our league has been using Clickydraft.com for a couple years now because they allow all these custom formatting. Then I have to transfer the picks into Yahoo. Very annoying. This needs to happen. PLEASE YAHOO! MAKE THIS CHANGE!!!!

We were wanting to be able to project the live draft onto a separate screen. Whether that be from a "Guest" owner or something. We just want to be able to show the draft progress without showing someones player rankings

MY league has the same problem,so a few years ago I changed It to an online draft.Now the majority can still get together and everyone has the same draft in the palm of their hand.A if youre super busy autodraft will make every pick you miss.all you need is a predraft list,or else it will pick anybody for you

There should be a draft setup where the commissioner can draft for most of the players during a live draft. An example of what I'm describing:
My league has chosen to do an offline, in person draft this year. Only 11 of the 14 members can make it in person. It would be awesome if us 11 could still do our in person draft (with draft board and all) while the 3 stuck at home are able to follow along on the site (or app). If I, as commish, were able to input every pick at the in person draft from one computer, the 3 others would be able to follow closely and make their picks directly from the website. -

What's missing is the ability to have some people draft online and others offline. Seems like it would be a very frequent occurrence for a league to be going, then one team moves away and would still like to be in the league. Currently there is no way to accommodate this.
With your draft board idea, you could have some people (out of the area friends) draft on their computer, see the draft happening from the offline group sitting together in a room and see the picks appear as they are entered.
It is important to allow the commissioner to enter picks so you don't need a laptop for every team. If you're out of town and want to make your own selections, just choose an option not allowing commissioner to make your picks. Or team that will be at the offline draft can allow the commissioner to make their picks.

Yeah, there should be a way to do a offline and online draft at the same time. We have a a big party for two separate drafts on the same day but everyone can't make it all the time. And it's stupid to have 10 people on their phones or computers because 2 people live far away. It would be great if there was a TV app that acted like a draft board that the commish was in charge of so everyone could see it. But at least be on the computer that the commish could run it.

I submitted a few of these ideas in 2013 and every comment was YAHOO DO THIS NOW. here we are 4 years later and they still haven't accommodated. I hear CBS has some nice options around this but Im not moving the league. HURRY UP YAHOO!

This is all a definite need for Live Drafts, we do one every year. Another note, my league is a Keeper/Dynasty league, so I am very interested in this guy's #2 point. We need the Live Draft Time extended beyond 2 minutes, what is the reasoning behind limiting your commissioners to 2 minutes per round? Please allow up to at least 5 minutes for Live Drafts...Keeper/Dynasty leagues need this time for Live Draft trading, not possible with only 2minutes on the clock. Thankyou and good points all around on the suggestion, let's keep pushing for this guys, get everyone you know to vote so we can get this changed

Yahoo does not have enough options to accommodate live drafts. Did a live draft this year and it worked out great but I had to use Clickydraft instead of yahoo. The options that made us choose Clickydraft are:
1. Read only URL of live draftboard. This allows anybody to stream the draftboard where they have a web browser. We were able to put the draftboard up on a 70in tv for everyone to see at draft party.
2. Extend draft pick timer and pause timer. While hosting a live draft party with 10 close friends and a lot of drinking, it would be nice to have the ability to adjust the pick timer (even mid-draft) and allow the commissioner to pause draft for when there are significant interruptions and shenanigans happening.
3. Allow for managers to either pick from their own devices or the commissioner can make their picks for them. This allows for if one or more people can't make it, to be able to combine the live draft and online draft.
I don't have any affiliation with Clickydraft but you should check them out for how to run a draft. This would greatly improve the whole draft process and make Yahoo unique.

For our league, it would be useful to have a live draft board. I realize that when you are doing a live draft from your computer, you are able to view everyone's team individually, but its useful to be able to see every drafted player on every single team at once. In our league, we do our draft live, but have been searching for an opportunity to project a draft board, updated in real time onto a large screen TV. This is helpful because instead of shuffling through each individual team, you can see at a glance which team go which player. It also creates a better drafting atmosphere, as it unites the advantages of online drafts with offline drafts.
