Give the ability to UNMUTE a person
IN conversations, give UNMUTE capability.

Unmuting someone should be a basic function... We should have self determination to find someone to see if they are making comments about you that could be harmful and defamatory. I can see someone is commenting on my comments, but can't see what is being said. You should have a block function instead of mute. Blocking would not allow someone to make comments that other people can see that are derogatory. How fair is it to have someone attack you and you can not even see what they are saying...?? Only here it 3rd hand from others.

Empowering with the ability to mute AND "unmute" users allows for more meaningful Yahoo content and conversations! It's also difficult to get to my list of Yahoo users in which I currently "Follow" them. Followed users offer highly meaningful content so Yahoo would be well served to make it easier to get to. Ideally we could view general conversations, then you have conversations which are specific to those I follow, then maybe a list of all those users I have currently muted. I can click to follow or unfollow a user but also mute or unmute a user.

As per the title, can any Yahoo staff explain why there is no way to unmute someone? I see people asking for a way to unmute over 3 years ago but there is still no way to perform this basic action?
If you accidentally mute someone due to an impersonator using the same name, there is currently no way to undo this. If you decide to forgive a user after muting the user for a period of time, there is no way to undo this. Why not let users unmute? It has been years now without such a basic option.

I would like to see a way to manage muted users as well

Would be great to be able to manage the list of muted users.

Totally muted someone by accident. There has to be a list somewhere that can easily be reset.

If you really want people to use the Conversations feature for individual stocks, you need to provide the option to un-mute a poster(s). Good grief, how basic a feature is that. Maybe YAHOO just doesn't care any more. Sad...you used to have the most prolific stock MBs on the internet and then you just gave it all away to StockTwits and others.

Why isn't there an option to unmute if you accidentally muted someone?

On the conversation boards it should have an Un-Mute button.
Muted someone by accidentally hitting a portion of the mute button and you should be able to unmute like other sites. -

MUTE is great. But I made a mistake and muted the wrong person because he had an imposter.

It's not ACCIDENTAL muting for me, I just have a low tolerance for spam. Someone might get frustrated and spam a finance message board with a bunch of GIF's. I immediately ignore anyone spamming GIF's because I don't want to see all that. I just didn't know it was permanent. Now, some of the people I've muted are participating in conversations but of course I can't see or reply to their posts. It would be great if Yahoo would re-initiate a way to unmute others.
FYI, I've been a regular Yahoo! user since Pringles Messenger before the turn of the century, played a ton of Yahoo! spades back then.

I don't understand how is this still not a thing. If you can mute someone, you should be able to unmute someone. Come on Yahoo, fix this please.

Please add this capability. I inadvertently muted a poster that gives thought provoking insight on the message boards. I see other posters replying to him/her and want to read his thoughts again. Please give us the ability to unmute someone that we've previously muted. Thanks.

As a software professional and a yahoo finance user . . . The ability to mute someone is GREAT - BUT . . . you need to provide the ability to unmute someone. You should at least let us know (I know NOW of course) that when you mute someone it is forever. To solve the issue of accidental muting - a simple pop up modal with something along the lines of "are you sure you want to mute this user? Muting a user if permanent and cannot be undone", but this does not solve the use case of 'I changed my mind'. We really need the ability to manage our mute list - or provide ability to temporarily mute. just some thoughts.

I firmly believe that if Yahoo Finance allows us the ability to block someone who posts comments in the message forums that it should also give us the right to Unmute someone in the event that we change our mind. The best solution would be to add a list of muted muted people to our settings or profile and then the ability to edit that list as we see fit. Given the number of times that I have seen people asking for advice on how to Unmute someone I can say without a don't that this feature would be well received and appreciated. Please listen to your users😁
