Google Finance Portfolio import / import ofx format
Google Finance is discontinuing their portfolio tracking features as of November 2017. Yahoo Finance has a unique opportunity to gain all these Google Finance users if the Yahoo Finance team is able to add the ability to import Google Finance user data from the OFX format that Google Finance provides exports in.

Old Google Finance was great. It was clean and easy to use. You could quickly see the chart of the market, news headlines without a lot of pictures cluttering up the page, the stocks you recently checked, and your set portfolio. It also showed the big movers (up and down) for the day. Google got rid of it. Their new site is unusable. There are a lot of people looking looking for a clean and easy to use finance site like Google used to provide. Yahoo could be that site. Please get rid of the clutter (too many pictures, too much scrolling, too large font, etc.). Be more like old Google Finance.

Just imported 10 Google portfolios saved in .cvs format into Yahoo Finance using the Import function and it worked great. Retained all relevant data and now all my Google portfolios have been converted to Yahoo. Thanks Yahoo!

Hope they have it by time google shuts down theirs. I've only used Yahoo finance (or yahoo anything) once and a while, but this would definitely get me to use it regularly.

Okay great. The import feature now "planned". Well done Yahoo. The import tool would need to be available by mid next week, 15th November. Google shuts down portfolio tracking in Mid November.

Same here - Yahoo is losing an immense opportunity. Their portfolio tracking is good, but having to manually type-in an entire portfolio or set of portfolios is a major impediment to transferring from Google to Yahoo. I am looking for other alternatives until Yahoo provides an import tool.

Planned? this is good news, right? Can we know when it could be done by?

This is a real shame. I was using Microsoft's site originally to import my portfolio data but they discontinued service a year(?) ago and I had to find another solution. Found a spreadsheet template that used YF and spend months tweaking it to suit my needs and now this happens. Very very disappointed and it's back to the drawing board now.

1st of November. Google Finance Portfolio shuts down in two weeks. Come on Yahoo, get that import feature going. Use it as an opportunity to gain 1000s of new customers.

To reinforce all other users who want a import tool in Yahoo Finance!
Can't believe Yahoo supports export of portfolio but not import!
Missing golden opportunity to capture Google Portfolio users right now. Also bad one cannot transfer portfolios from other Yahoo accounts even!

If an import is added, Yahoo will gain me as an active user. I use Google Finance for all of my portfolios -- brokerages have come and gone but Google Finance had all my data! Now I need a place for it. Please develop Yahoo!

one plus on comments below, I had yahoo, than came gmail........10years later, google finance is closing down, and I am shopping for new home for my stock portfolio stuff and YF looks ****, but as soon as I tried to import my GF export, it was a downhill ride.
Why Verizon why, why are you still in the monopolistic mind set, why dont you care to get more users..........evolve fast or you will go the route yahoo the company went.

Any thoughts on websites that do actually allow import from Google Finance export files?

What David said. It would be painstaking to do this manually again.
Yahoo finance looks pretty slick too.
One month to go guys!

I looked at My Portfolios within Yahoo Finance as an alternative to Google Finance. I only reason I didn't select to go with Yahoo is because there was no import tool. I didn't want to have to re-enter all my trades from the last few years. Put this import feature in Yahoo before Mid Novermber and you have me.
