What could possibly be wrong with this? You say it has bad language and "find out why" but no one can find out why!

I, between Baltimore and Annapolis, raced a friend in Oregon from early 2020 through June 2021 to see who would first be in my rebuilt-after-a-fire house or her new home. We initially thought we'd be in by the Fall of 2020, then the end of 2020, then by March of 2021 until we both got into our houses in late June, 2021.
I was fortunate to have a very honest contractor and good insurance and ended up with a house worth much more than before the fire.
But I - and my friend - spent hundreds of hours picking out everything from flooring to siding to major appliances only to find out some weren't available and others were 50% more in price than the unavailable-for-9-months equivalent ones.
Then, when the wiring was completed, installing the sheetrock walls in the house was held up by three weeks because of a shortage of county inspectors to approve the wiring - something that's normally done in one day. That problem continued throughout.
Even now, I'm putting together a materials list to build a wooden shed in my yard this Spring and finding that the $2.96 2x4x8's are out of stock at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc., but there are plenty of $8.49 ones.
