Allow comments on articles
Allow commenting on articles.
Very recently Yahoo Finance stopped allowing comments on any article. I suppose someone made the determination that the value of the site is not diminished not having comments and not having to moderate. The one-way dictation of the articles does in fact diminish its value. Being able to comment on the articles allows for alternate points of view, correcting incorrect statements in articles, and sharing of ideas related to the articles. Most articles are not written by financial journalists, and very often there is incorrect information provided, sometimes to the point where it's clear that it was posted directly by the author without any editorial review or fact checking.
If comments are not reinstated, I'll be finding a new financial home which does allow for readers to comment and share. That may mean going back to Seeking Alpha.

Without feedback there is no check and balance for information put out by Yahoo. I know a lot of comments that are submitted are not appropriate. That is why you have a delete button. The articles you write are not necessarily right and sometimes push an opinion or agenda and as such need to be subject to rebuttal so people can decide for themself, unless you don't think people are capable of doing that. Sort of a free press.
I also think Mr. Serwer needs to keep a closer watch on his people for what his people are saying and writing. Please pass that comment on to Mr. Serwer. Thank you and have a good day.
