Occasionally an ad will appear among the various news notices under a particular stock chart that is interesting looking. Last year (2022) there were two instances when clicking on an ad resulted in a full page message appearing on my screen along with a voice saying
"caution, your computer has just been taken over, do not attempt to turn off or unplug it but call or go to...."
Of course this was a fraud and just by turning off my computer for several minutes everything was back to normal.
However... already this year (2023) this intervention has happened to me twice. The last time was an in an ad headlined "see what ridiculous outfits some stars wore to the Grammys" after about the third star in costume. As a result, I am never going to click on any ads for fear of it being an effectual hack eventually.
My suggestion is that you have your staff click on ads to check them out, but that would be an enormous undertaking, so have a site marked to report such cantankerous efforts so that you can do something to prevent them.
