First, I don't like it either. Second I want to be Abe to download my email folders to my computer; when will that be available?

OH and to tag on to my first comment... WTH should I now have to move all my emails from my carefully curated folders back into my Inbox just so I can have them download to my desktop app??btw I use Outlook - courtesy of a new computer.

YES!!!!!!!!!
There are many of us who use a desktop app (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.). This would allow access to archived messages when you're offline (metered internet access?) and provide a valuable backup.
Many years ago, in a far and distant place, Yahoo did have this feature; and, although Yahoo is owned by another entity (competing company to AT&T) this reeeeeally shouldn't be hard.
