searching
I am moving away from Yahoo slowly due to the lack of robustness from the search results. I am copying and pasting exact email addresses that I am looking for FROM AN EMAIL IN MY INBOX and it won't show up. Also need to be able to search across ALL mailboxes. Like if I accidentally deleted an email (always).....searching should find it. This account was my very first email address, and therefore has sentimental value. There is also tons of history in this account but I CANNOT ACCESS IT because the search feature is useless, which means this account is becoming useless as well.
You can find additional search support here: https://forums.yahoo.net/t5/Features-and-settings/bd-p/features-settings
Thank you!

My email search is not working on desktop. I get a message An error occurred while trying to fetch the items in this list.
Retry
The search is working on mobile. -

My email search is not working. If I am trying to filter emails by a particular sender, I get a progress circle for around 30 seconds, and then the message:
"An error occurred while trying to fetch the items in this list.
Retry"
Furthermore, the "Retry" hyperlink doesn't work. -

The search feature sucks. It often doesn't pull up what you search for - it mixes the inbox into the searched messages - what you searched for disappears even if an email is open. Pretty much the search function is useless. It was working amazing a few months ago and then one weekend it just went to ****. Why did you feel the need to break what was working so well.

I tried "YAHOO SEARCH" but YAHOO quickly dumped MY desired "Search Results" and hijacked me BACK to the 'YAHOO-SPAM' Home Pages! Booooo.
My SEARCH RESULTS were gone and I'm right back to a VERY BLOATED YAHOO SPAM page! Did I want to try my same search again? Noooooa.
I had just ONE CHANCE to review and explore my search results!
WHY would actions like this make me CHANGE my Search Engines to YAHOO?

There's an issue with the search feature.
Search in desktop version (google chrome) not working properly. You enter a keyword & the folder name, takes few seconds to filter & bring up the results but while you are working on it in few seconds, the screen jumps back to inbox & results are all gone. I had to repeat the process to find something. If you click on search result, it doesn't allow you to go back to search results (as it used to do before) but simply takes you back to the inbox. In the end, I used my phone to find the emails i was looking for.

Since switching to Yahoo Mail Pro I find now that when I query for messages from a certain sender the results will show for a few seconds then a list with all messages in the inbox replaces it. This worked better in the classic version. I'm tempted to switch back.

Any solution to this ?
This lack of search within folders is annoying and a big bug that the team should rectify immediately. -

Dear Yahoo: PLEASE fix YM's Search feature! It's been broken for many months now. The search results are still appearing for only a second or so, then being replaced by the normal list. It's very frustrating not being able to find anything. Thanks!

search function sucks! Tried to search my email for a particular sender. I set my parameters, the screen flashed to my result, then back to my inbox & now won't work at all. I preferred the old search program

when searching through mail folders on the date of a mail, the date formats are mixed up: i look for mail up until april 10, but get up until okt 4.....

I'd like to filter results with "not" operators, for example, subject contains "registration" but "not from naxos".

The search function returns way too much information. If I search for "Kohl's" in the Inbox folder I get every email in the inbox as a result.
How hard is it to fix something like this?
I also spent quit a while trying to find a way to contact (call or chat) with a human being. This is obviously forbidden. Grrr!
You people should get your act together.

Search option is different now. Before I could choose: SEARCH IN INBOX and then, I could select all the new messages from someone in the inbox and move them into the right folder. Now, it just shows all messages which are everywhere / different folders and I have to click on everyone that is IN THE FOLDER INBOX, to move them. I don't like it. It was easy to do SELECT ALL, because they were all searched in INBOX and just move them. Now, I have to see what message is in the INBOX to move it to another folder. It takes time. I hate the new email. DON'T FIX WHAT IS NOT BROKEN! IT WAS PERFECT BEFORE!

Keep priorities to user experience and search functionality.

Note; the issue described above is consistent for Firefox and MS IE (consistent in that it doesn't work and also consistent with the correctly folder filtered search coming up momentarily but then disappearing and showing emails with keyword hits for ALL folders)

In addition to searching by keywords, you can use the drop-down arrow in the search bar to identify a "Search In" and pick which folder you want to search in (a very helpful feature). This is no longer working; when I search a keyword and choose a specific folder I still get results from all folders. Weird thing is, when you do this you get a momentary result from just the folder you want, but then within ~1 second the folder filter seems to go away and you get results from all folders. Please fix! Thanks

I absolutely HATE the new format. Why do you guys think we always want updates? Just when we get used to how something works, you CHANGE it so we cant find anything. And this is IMPROVEMENT?!! I tried searching for messages; it says there are 4 messages and then shows me NONE! "Nothing to Show here" is the message on the screen. STOP CHANGING!

Your past versions were helpful. One could search by sender and sort by date. Totally impossible now. Do you really want to compete with other services or are you trying to get your long-time users to just give up and leave? What will happen to your advertising revenue then? Have you considered the economic impact?
