How do we change how often the Spam Folder is deleted?
Mail in my spam folder is being deleted too soon.
30 days is not enough time to realize that an expected or unexpected email has been wrongfully sent into the spam folder.
Three months would be ideal.
Or otherwise to let us, the missers of wrongfully spamified mail, to select how frequently the spam folder emails be deleted.
Certainly some persons who do not use their emails for job-related correspondence wouldn't mind the short-term holding.
But for those of us who unexpectedly receive auto-spam-sorted mail that ISN'T spam, and thus don't know about it till we start to wonder if we should have received something from such n such a month or two ago....
.... and find the spam folder nearly empty.
This is so far out of the users control.
Reality is that it can take up to two or three months to have any indication that an important email was wrongfully sent into the spam folder.
In my personal case, a lot of non-spam from all sorts of senders have been being shuffled directly into my spam box without me even knowing till I go searching for something I should have been sent, and then finding several other emails in the spam folder that also shouldn't have been flagged as spam.
Over the time frame since this extraordinarily SHORT deletion turnover was implemented, I cannot even imagine how many emails from my own family have been purged right under my nose without my knowing.
Not to mention all of the first-time mails that don't even get the chance to be flagged as non-spam. Gone poof, never saw it in the first place to unflag it.
So,
decrease the mail deletion frequency to three months, else give us the opportunity to select how often we want to lose mail without seeing it.
