How can we improve New Mail?

I would like my emails back, you deleted them all

You guys erased everything. I was apparently inactive for 1 year (it's been a tough year!). What is so magical about 1 year? Why not make it 2? (especially with Covid) That would give more latitude for people like me who have been offline for a while. Please re-store my emails, thanks.
