Spam
The Spam filter is moving emails that are NOT SPAM into the Spam. These are from addresses that I HAVE SENT EMAILS TO MYSELF! This is a major major failure of the algorithm, and actually has had some significant consequences for me in not realizing I had emails that were important.
I have gmail as well, and it will now be my main email from here on out. This is an inexcusable and unforgivable sin as a mail client. Occasional Spam slipping through the filter can be tolerated. Hiding important emails that are very obviously NOT spam is not tolerable.

Some basic simple things are going wrong here and that is not acceptable
1) When I select an email and click on "Spam", nothing happens !
2) When I chose an email as Spam, that means that particular email address should never come again in my inbox, but they keep on coming. And When I chose an email as Not Spam, that means that particular email address always come in my inbox, but they keep on going in Spam...SIMPLE THINGS but ALL WRONG HERE

What the **** is going on
Regular e-mail going to spam even after having been marked as "Not Spam" multiple times My contacts e-mail going to spam

1. in the menu show that there are messages in Spam (bolden the word Spam and/or show number of messages).
2. I can block certain users/senders (before the @), but sometimes the provider (after the @) is only sending spam. Give the opportunity to block the provider as well.
3. In the same thought: Give the opportunity too allow providers, that you wrongly mark as spam. -

I get so much spam in my inbox, it's ridiculous! stop Yahoo Mail...

I figured yahoo was unreliable so primarily use this for non-important things like shopping, but sometimes we need to communicate with customer care and yahoo flags such communications, payments made and other generally salient things as spam, while allowing the actual spam to get into the inbox!
Even worse, when I marked some mails as "Not Spam", they permanently disappeared!
A platform like this and they expect us to pay for it! Incredible!

Since last November you are SPAMMING very important E-mails with attachments. These have been in my mailstream for over two years! This discovery was extremely desturbing -- you MUST stop this practice immediately!

I am having same major issue with this. Most normal email types now all of a sudden going to spam and didn't do it until recently. This needs sorting out quickly and so does the availability of a person or support email to fix the problem. Not good enough at all and clearly a bug in the system

The spam function has always worked well, but for some time mails from people who are in my contact list are also seen as spam. Other obvious bad spam messages are placed in the inbox. What's wrong with you yahoo?
If you are not able to adjust this imperfection, I am forced to switch to another mail provider (after more than 20 years!)

Even if address is added to contact it does not matter, it goes to spam folder or keeps asking "Why is this email in your inbox?" Also the email is from a reputed company.
On the other hand I keep marking some emails as spam, their from email addresses are a bunch of gibberish and still these come to my inbox.
I have to read through my spam filter every day to make sure that I have not missed any important email. A colossal waste of time.
You have to fix this as important emails go to spam and spam is in my inbox.
I can provide examples if Yahoo mail team contacts me separately.

This has gone way past excusable. The issue has been flagged for quite a while now, Yahoo have a pretty good spam filter in the previous one, yet persist in fielding the new and seriously disfunctional one. It is trashware. How about this effort from it, today ...
Sender: ***@yahoo.ca
---------Content:

Merry Christmas Gordon and I wish you a Happy and Healthy 2022
Warm Wishes.

End of content (spot the spam!?!)And the sender, ***@yahoo.ca IS IN MY CONTACT LIST.
There is dumb and there is dumb, but seldom is there as dumb as this. Even if the writer of the new filter had a privileged or protected status, why is this filter still in service?

Yes, for the last few weeks the spam filter, which used to be very good, has gone daft. Mostly, it picks on emails from ac.uk, org.uk and gov.uk, which are all pretty safe domains unless they have been spoofed. Next on its hit list are acknowledgements of orders and notifications of dispatch, with no suspect content like requests for money.
Inconsistently, marketting material is usually left alone (correctly as it happens, because it's mostly stuff I've signed up for, but the spam filter doesn't know that and it guesses correctly). The old filter worked well. How about putting it back until (and if) the new one gets fixed.

I've been getting this too recently. Something has changed in the last couple of months. Emails from contacts should never go into spam unless there's a good reason e.g. a suspect link.

I agree, emails that would normally be filtered into folders going into spam is inexcusible.

Same! Came here to complaint about this too!
I have emails from a housing association that are repeatedly marked as spams. I have repeatedly marked them as NOT spams and added the sender's email to my contacts but the next email I receive from the same address is again marked as spam. I have had other regular senders randomly going to either the spam folder or my regular inbox. Your spam algorithm definitely needs fixing! At least if an email address is marked once as safe by the user, it should not be flagged again as spam. -
