Add an option to turn off AI summaries.
It might be useful for people with robust business-style accounts, but most of my messages are already short, or they're notifications. It makes the "summaries" redundant and obnoxious.

How do I stop Yahoo from reading my emails? I do not want your AI generating info about my emails. Send them to me without reading them.
Whomever is running the programming at Yahoo is an overreaching, arrogant, idiot. "I'm from Yahoo, I'm here to help you".
You do not know what is a Priority to Me so deciding to make Priority the default is stupid, Consider that idea a total failure.
You do not know what parts of an email are important to me so stop having your AI read my emails and try to tell me what matters as it is not at all possible without background info on the email, issues, people involved, etc. So doing that without my consent is another total fail.
You want to help people, go ahead and develop your ideas and then let your users decide if they want to implement them.
Absolutely stupid. -

It's a completely useless feature. I'm really embarrassed of them for forcing it into our faces like this. Why do I have to scroll past a summary to read my emails? James made a good point too. Don't use my private emails to feed your AI machine! Take it out completely.

I AM GOING TO READ THE EMAIL why would I need a summary of it?!?!?!?!

The AI summary almost just had me calling my bank about an incorrect transaction amount that it hallucinated. Why is this presented as the first thing we see when we open the email, it's misleading. And why are you feeding our email to an AI in the first place? This seems like a major security risk!

I don't find the summaries helpful. I prefer to read my email and understand what they're fully about. And for the ones that are short and brief it's just a waste of space and effort to see what's already been said, now twice.

I find the summaries very helpful. When I don't need them I can quickly look past them, just like I look past header information. I would rather developers spend time providing more features rather than removing something I can just look past.

Hi Daniel, please check other forums before adding a duplicate. We'd really appreciate it. You can certainly add to it or up vote. There is already a thread on AI Summaries. Thanks!

I saw an option for it on the phone app but can't turn it off for the browser. I hate those AI summaries with a passion

i despise this feature. i do NOT want you to try and tell me what the person who wrote to me personally said. i don't care about your interpretation yahoo. i care about the person who wrote to me, who i know. to have your summary at the top is incredibly presumptuous. at the very least, make this "feature" optional.

The AI summary is a terrible idea especially making it involuntary! I was trying to figure out why one of my important customers was threatening to end our partnership AND THEY WEREN'T YOUR MORONIC AI SUMMARY misinterpreted the email. You should not be giving people a FALSE understanding of important business emails because its not even clear that the AI summary is an AI summary. I had to put the pieces together to even realize what was going on!

I agree. Not only that, but they are often not correct. I freaked out when I thought I had ordered a $156 dinosaur poster from Amazon before I realized I was reading an AI preview. These can go away. They are not helpful, especially if they can't be trusted.

The AI summary of my email is not necessary and some of them are very strange. The AI summarized an Amazon order for a coat as a large order for a branded? face cream.

Hi Charles, thanks for your feedback. Currently, you cannot disable the AI summaries on Desktop. We will share this feedback with the right team. You CAN disable AI summaries in our iOS app. AI is not available on Android yet. Thanks!

Please eliminate the new AI summaries. This is annoying clutter. I can read my own mail, thank you

Yes. With all the things you can turn on or turn off, I'm not sure why this doesn't have an easy "off" button in the settings. The AI summaries are not useful; I don't need a computer telling me what parts of my messages are important.

Makes sense! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We will share this with our team and see if we'll add a setting to turn off AI summaries. Thanks!
