How to Keep Folders Expanded? Here's How:
I read all of the responses about the expanded folders. It is not functioning the way you described it. How do we keep the folders expanded even while going through emails, etc. I need them to stay expanded! All of the time!

the new folder format is clunky and not easy to navigate. I will be looking at another email platform if this isn't changed within the next year.

In the mailbox, need to keep the folders expanded on the left side navigation panel but Yahoo Plus no longer allows that which is extremely annoying and cumbersome. Please fix it!!

Want to be able to see all of my folders on the side of the screen instead of having to scroll through them to find a particular folder

The folder structure was better before. It is difficult to maneuver now. Before we could just click to a folder and would not have to scroll as much. Now that is not the case. The window to scroll is small. The window needs to be longer for ease of navigation

Where are all my emails/folders? I have folders for emails that pertain to specific things?

Allow for me to put the specific Folders I want on the main screen. I don't want to have to click Folders and then find the folder I want, especially if I have a lot of folders. I want to be able to prioritize on my home mail page.

Make "Expand All Folders" the default. Give people the OPTION to collapse them. Consider your long-time users and make the default what they know. Give them the OPTION to change things if we want to. Do not force changes on us. I have tried your tips on how to expand the folders and I can not figure out how to change from the "collapse" default.

Wish the folders were visible on the side panel as they were in the earlier version. Having to scroll to put an email into the folder is a pain the A.- -!!

I'd like to see the folders on the left-hand side again; it looks like I have to hover over "folders" to make them visible. Having the email folder list hidden from view now isn't helping me organize them.

Return back folders view on the default screen!! I have created those for a reason and I don't want to press extra buttons just for an overview of my already-sorted email!!!!!

It would be nice if there was an option to have your folders expanded in the left hand navigation. I have filters set up for emails to go into specific folders, and it would be nice to quickly view those folders to see if there are unread emails in them with a quick glance instead of having to click to open the view to see them.

When logged on to my account via my internet browser (not smartphone)....
As of late last night California PST, my folder display listings & folder font has changed dramatically for the worse. It was at least useable prior to these recent changes but still was NOT the least bit favorable from the previous original verison prior to this horrible "new version" update.
The BIG ISSUES...My folder listing display is IMPOSSIBILE to read and/or navigate due to the fact that the folder names are now wrapping/overlapping on top of each other (either with sub folders expanded or not). The font type and light font conrarst with adequate spacing between folder/sub folder names are terrible also. It's hard & strains the eyes....this is unacceptable & awful!
In the future you MUST beta test new version/updates & also notify users in advance of future verison updates and what the updates will include etc.
Again, the current version is IMPOSSIBLE to use and far from user friendly. If it remians I will have no choice to stop using yahoo email completely as it is inefficent and unproductive.
I was forced by Cox as a long time Cox email customer over to Yahoo email from the conversion that took place earlier in this year othersise I wouldn't even be using yahoo.
PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!!!
Thank You,
Greg Hoffman. -
Let us go step by step on how to keep your folders expanded.
1. You will need to expand the left side column first.
2. From the Inbox, hover your mouse over the edge of your Inbox (left side)
3. Double arrows will appear and you can click to expand column
4. When the column expanded, a drop down arrow will appear next to Folders
5. Click on that and the Folders will stay expanded for that session, even if you are checking emails, the folder list will stay expandedThe folders will collapse back if you refresh, close the window or log out of the account.

There is no reason to change out of the previous display where the folders can be scrolled down. By adding an extra layer before people can get to the folders, you're just pushing people away from using your email service as it takes more time to see how much mail people have that has been filtered.
With the extra layer before reaching the folders, people are going to miss notifications telling them that they have mail in those folders. It's just how the eyes and mind work - out of sight, out of mind.
