Small UI oddities and tweaks
- Each popover should have an arrow pointing to the button that opened it. This is particularly helpful for the folder context menus.
- The "more on Yahoo" popover could use some icons.
- In the light theme, the search placeholder text becomes more contrastive when the search bar is focused. This is kind of backwards. Also ensure the two themes are consistent with each other here.
The rest of these concern issues with the dark theme specifically:
4. This might be the most important: The automatic dark theme application to emails needs a lot of work, even just in simple ways. Pure white backgrounds are set to pure black, even though you are using a relatively light gray for unformatted emails and the surrounding space.
5. The blue link color in the little alert popups is too dark (for example in "your message has been sent").
6. In the email list, the contrast between text and the background seems too high, hurting readability. I think the body preview should be dimmer than the subject, at least (for distinction from the subject).
7. The drop shadow on hovered emails is hard to see, except when adjacent to unreads. This makes it look a bit bizarre.
8. The "X" buttons for search suggestions look weird with the black backgrounds. I would only show a background when hovering, but not that contrastive.
