Return to Classic Mail
Go back to the original Yahoo. This is terrible. Why do I have to click on the 3 dots on the bottom to get the Spam and Trash Folders. They should be on the top with the icons for inbox, etc.

I enjoyed the original version and the photos tab allowing me to see all the pictures at once.

Is the Grey supposed to be read messages, and white unread? Why?
Why is the font HUGE, without anyway to make it smaller, I can see 1/2 of the messages I could see before. Why did you take the drag drop from the classic version?
Where is the spam folder, and why did Yahoo delete tons of spam without my deciding to delete.

Stop changing things for the SAKE OF CHANGING THINGS, you companies are ******* off YOUR LOYAL customers that have been with you since the beginning, and it's not a smart move, FINE upgrade security and all that, Fine. But don't change EVERYTHING on a whim, and don't totally knee cap the basic version and remove the ability for dark mode in basic for us who have light sensitivity issues and get migraines looking as a white page for extneded periods of time.

These designers are cracked. Think about the age bracket of the people who use Yahoo mail of all boomer things. Young people arent using it. Us older people DO NOT LIKE CHANGE. If you wanna update stuff in the background, fine, but don't change the look of things.

Oh goodness, give senior citizens a chance to "GO BACK". The world is hectic and confusing enough. Please reinstate the old version I've used for years. This new one isn't working for me at all. I can't move items to the archive as they disappear and when I click on the archive folder they are not there any longer. I have to sign in to the Yahoo mail constantly when I didn't have to before. This is NOT an improvement. It was sad when you took away the stationery and now this terrible excuse for email.

So if I go back to classic I can't view any emails before today?????
Why on new version I can't see how many drafts I have or why do I have to look for the folder for how any unread. I should be able to set my folders as I want. Also having all your choices of staring, moving, move options should be next to current email not at the email, this not visually friendly. The appearance is way to light on what is read.
Horrible updates...NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL> -

I HATE THIS NEW VERSION!!! I just read so many peoples comments that agree with me. I'm so glad I am not the only one that hates this. Hopefully more and more people keep this relevant enough that they consider giving their users a CHOICE!!!!!!

*Those asking about going back to the old version. Unfortunately, if you do not see the "Go Back" button you cannot to back. We really hope you'll try the new experience! Thanks!
Regarding this pinned comment from whoever at Yahoo Mail: Are you serious? We gave it a try! I cannot find my emails! Why is everything grey? Why do I get summaries for job orders saying "He and he sent you a job on there"? How helpful do you expect that to be and when did I give you permission to read my emails with AI? Not sure what the reason is for pushing this new "experience" onto us, but we tried it and we hate it. Now do something about it, because Gmail is at least readable and mildly annoying compared to this new version of Yahoo.

This is awful. Not user friendly at all. I have a thread that has so much white space it is ridiculous. In order to hit reply and send I have to scroll about 20 inches. I can't tell if I am sending or how it will be received. Give me the option to go back to classic version. Will probably change email if I can't.

The latest update to Yahoo Mail has significantly reduced functionality, making it more difficult for users to manage their emails efficiently. This update was rolled out without an option to revert to the previous version, removing essential features that were integral to an effective email system.
Key Issues with the New Version:- Drag-and-Drop Email Organization Removed. The ability to drag and drop emails into folders is no longer available. This is a fundamental feature that all major email providers, including Gmail, still support. Organizing emails should be intuitive and efficient, not require extra steps or workarounds.
- Folders Are Difficult to Access – The default setting for Folders should be expanded or allow users to set their preference. Currently, folders are hidden in a small dropdown modal popup, displaying only five at a time without scrolling. This makes organizing and accessing stored emails unnecessarily tedious.
- Back Button and Hotkeys No Longer Work Properly – Attempting to use the back button or keyboard shortcuts (such as Backspace) now results in a "Page expired or does not exist" error. This disrupts workflow and forces users to re-navigate manually.
- Slower, Less Responsive Interface – The new design feels sluggish and bloated, making even simple tasks like opening, moving, or deleting emails take longer than before.
- Unreadable UI and Poor Design Choices – Readability has become more difficult due to changes in styling, text size, and excessive white space. While each email is now boxed in within the inbox, it has ironically made emails harder to scan while taking up more space on the screen. The compact but easy-to-navigate layout from the classic version has been removed, forcing a design that is inefficient for managing large volumes of emails.
- Missing Date-Based Email Separation – The inbox and folders no longer separate emails by day, week, and year. This made it much easier to organize and locate emails in previous versions, but now everything is displayed as one continuous list with no clear grouping.
- Forced "Priority" Inbox Default – Yahoo Mail now defaults to the "Priority" tab, yet users have no control over what is considered "Priority." There is no transparency in how Yahoo determines this, and it often misclassifies emails.
- Users should be able to set their own default tab, such as "All," but this option is currently unavailable. AI or algorithm-driven sorting should not override a user’s actual email preferences.
- Basic Mail is Even Worse – Yahoo’s Basic Mail mode, which was previously a fallback option for users who preferred simplicity, now has even fewer features and is nearly unusable. It lacks key functions, making it an ineffective alternative and only adding to user frustration and confusion.
- Limited Customization – Previous versions of Yahoo Mail allowed users to adjust layouts and personalize their experience. The new update removes these options, forcing a one-size-fits-all interface that does not meet everyone’s needs.
- Increase in Ads – Ads have become more intrusive, negatively impacting the user experience and overall performance. Even users with paid subscriptions have reported seeing more ads than before.
Yahoo should consider a revert to any of the previous versions that provided a more functional and user-friendly experience.
At the very least, basic email management features—such as drag-and-drop functionality, proper navigation controls, compact and readable email layouts, the ability to set a default tab, persistent folder visibility, and date-based email separation—should be restored to ensure efficiency and ease of use.
Many users rely on Yahoo Mail for daily communication, and updates should enhance, not hinder, productivity.

I cannot find all of my folders any longer. They are simply not available. If we had Yahoo before 2024, my understanding is that we are supposed to have the ability to return to the original format, but that is certainly not available to me, although I have had Yahoo for over 2 decades! Furthermore, it took almost a month for Yahoo to even offer me this format to express my displeasure, and you have no recourse unless you want to pay, to speak to customer service. That is ludicrous!
