Return to Classic Mail
Go back to the original Yahoo. This is terrible. Why do I have to click on the 3 dots on the bottom to get the Spam and Trash Folders. They should be on the top with the icons for inbox, etc.

having more themes is needed, since the light is too light , the dark is too dark. The old yahoo email have more choices.

I don't know whose idea it was to change that, but using a purple dot to differentiate that something is unread vs read is truly one of the WORST design choices I have ever seen. It's impossible to tell at first glance of my inbox when something is unread or read. Go back to using a darker shade color for when something is read PLEASE.

The format of your NEW Yahoo is horrible. Every time I try to reply to a sender, it combines all emails in a chain and thinks its a draft and doesnt send. This is going to have me on the streets eventually as I cannot communicate with employers.

Appalling new interface for free users. Just a small box to read mail, the rest is full of ads at the bottom and on the right side. Half readable titles. Cant resize. Only black and white, cant discern which is read which not in the black version, old version you could choose background. Even worse for use on smartphones. Disrespectful for old users. i may be switching to other emails.

As a desktop user who has received the update already, this is just so bad. What was wrong with the previous way of showing read emails? It darkened the email so that you could easily tell at a glance what has been read and what hasn't. Why would you think that changing that and making it so a tiny purple dot is now the new indicator of read and unread? It not only makes it incredibly hard to discern between the two, but it also creates just so much extra visual noise with the extra color added. Please, please undo this. Please.

I use Chrome or Edge. It fails in both. I had to do search on mobile email client to find by search. Also scrolling is a lot slower on new mail interface and some times doesn't scroll well and refreshes screen with changing ad's.

Expanded Theme Library
Offer a wider range of professional and modern themes (minimalist, gradient, seasonal, corporate). Outlook provides subtle, office-friendly palettes that Yahoo could emulate.Custom Theme Builder
Allow users to upload background images or select custom colors for folders, headers, and buttons. Outlook’s personalization is limited, so Yahoo could differentiate by being more flexible.Dynamic Themes
Introduce adaptive themes that change with time of day (light in the morning, dark in the evening) or sync with system settings.Reset & Preview Options
Add a “Reset to Default” and live preview before applying a theme, ensuring users can experiment without committing.Writing & Composition Options:
Rich Formatting Toolbar
Expand formatting tools to match Outlook: font styles, sizes, colors, highlighting, indentation, and line spacing.Templates & Quick Parts
Provide reusable templates for common emails (business replies, meeting requests, festive greetings). Outlook’s “Quick Parts” feature is popular—Yahoo could add a simplified version.Smart Editor
Integrate grammar, clarity, and tone suggestions (similar to Microsoft Editor in Outlook). This would help users draft polished emails quickly.Draft Collaboration
Enable shared drafting or comments within emails—useful for teams before sending official communication.Signature Management
Allow multiple signatures (personal, business, casual) with easy switching, like Outlook’s signature options.Extra Enhancements
Focus Mode
A distraction-free writing window that hides folders and ads while composing.AI-Powered Suggestions
Offer subject line suggestions, quick summaries, or reply drafts (with toggle to disable, respecting user choice).Accessibility Features
High-contrast themes, larger fonts, and voice-to-text integration for inclusive usability. -

Please give me the option to remove the panel on the right. The one that has starred or contacts. I really don't want that on my screen. Otherwise, I will stick to the old format as it gives me more room to read my mail. I have to strain to see the email anyway.

Hi,
the new Yahoo could be great,
but it's actually very SAD => dear developers did you try it ?EXAMPLES :
- FONT ATTRIBUTES like Bold ( + Emoji +... etc...) is constantly disappearing and with no reasons.
- Worse : once you find BOLD if you change the size of the font, bye bye to BOLD AGAIN.
- Right Click Menus have also disappeared, etc etc...
CONCLUSION :
- I like the new DARK LOOK,
- I don't like anything else... because because it feels like going back 10 years in the pastSo overall... and unfortunately : it's sad !
Please correct ?

Give the user the ability to select their choice of colors! Especially, with the Unread emails. In the Dark mode, it is hard to recognize the unread emails, thanks to its color selection.

The recent change to how Read vs Unread emails are marked means that there is only a small dot to the left side if the email is Unread. The reason this is a major issue is that most people, myself included, are looking at the short snippet of the message and the date of the message to the right to check which emails are of interest while working our way backward until we see messages we have seen previously. Because we frequently receive important emails that look similar, without a way to easily recognize emails that have already been read while our focus on the Right side it becomes very easy to think we have reached messages we recognize even when there are still new messages left we have not seen yet. This has already happened to me twice in the short duration since this change took effect. While I understand the desire to "Visually improve user experience" changes that result in a high chance of users missing important messages is where I feel this is no longer beneficial. The purpose of visual cues, such as whether a message has been opened, are meant to make it easier to use and navigate the system. Changes that make this harder or riskier serve no purpose other than creating an artificial sense of progress.

Hello,
I've been using the new Yahoo mail style for a while now, and actually I wanted to switch back to old mail style because of many problems in the new style, but I decide to stick around and give the new style a test run for a while...
Here are the couple of key problems I believe are important and needs to be fixed first for the new style to become usable and appealing:
First, most emails are designed with white back ground, inside the new Yahoo Mail style the white is replaced with the color 'rgb(153, 153, 0) , that color can be found in the style of the pages, that color makes all the text appearing in these areas unreadable, to fix this problem that color should be changed back to white, simply replace the line rgp(153, 153, 0) with rgb(255, 255, 255) and the white background of emails will return and all the emails will be easily readable fine again...
Second, The new left side panel was designed without the user created 'Folders' in mind, and it is worse than the old style. Most users create custom folders for their emails to sort things and stay organized, and the side panel have the standard list (inbox, sent, spam, etc...) that can't be collapsed, there should be an option to collapse it to free space on the side for the custom folders.
And below it there are the custom folders which can be collapsed, but the main icon 'Folders' does not show a notification when one of the folders underneath it receives an email, there should be a notification showing on this icon
And all the way at the bottom there is the '...More' option which slides all the way down after all the custom folders, this '...more' option should be placed before the custom folders and not after it and should be named in a better way.
These changes alone can help improve the appeal of the new Yahoo Mail a lot.
Thanks for your great effort, it is much appreciated,
Best Regard. -

I really hate the new design colours - it's all grey and I cannot have it bright and without the grey. Sorry, but it is very annoying.
