Extra, unnecessary navigation and features being forced
I like the new look, however there are a couple things I dislike. It seems now I need to actually select an email to "Star" it. That wasn't necessary prior. Also, the trash icon will not appear on the email in the left column unless you move your mouse away and return. These new aspects are seriously annoying and would prefer an option for that not to be that way. When changing the look, please don't change folder structures. Every time you give a facelift, I have to take time to put things back the way they were through a new interface and Settings menu. I understand you're trying to promote a feature, but please don't force it on people. I've managed to return my inbox back to normal. I would like the issues with Star and Trash icons in the left panel to be remedied if possible, or instruct me how to change them to how they used to work in your new interface. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, there will unfortunately always be change for all apps and sites. We can't always stay the same. We have to evolve and move/redesign things based on our data and user research. With that said, you do not have to open an email to star it. Looking at your Inbox, you can hover over that email and icons will appear on the right hand side. From there you can certainly star an email. As for the trash icon, we are looking at a few things.
