It would be incredibly useful if you would add a "widget" to the new mail app that is a simple ever present notepad. What I would like is a simple place to copy/paste/type anything that is on my mind at that moment.

Currently, you have a link to notepad which is different. That is not globally accessible to me as scratch pad type thing. Think of a sticky note for your inbox where you want to put an idea that you will see later when you open your mail. Currently, I email myself or text myself. This feature would eliminate the need to do that.

I could post the note to myself on my computer at work and when I get home and open my yahoo mail app on my iphone, it is right there waiting for me as a collapsible widget on the home screen.
