It's terrible that you deleted emails due to 12 month inactivity
I had a lot of old memories in this email account, and even though I connected my gmail account to the yahoo mail one, I was never warned that my account emails would be deleted.
I understand the need to save disk storage, but as a user, we would never be aware of this deletion policy on our own. Unfortunately, a lot of old childhood emails that I have with family and friends are now gone.

If your account has had no activity for 365 days, then the account is deactivated. We communicate this a few times which includes sending you an email to your alternative email account, so make sure that is updated. If you need help reinstating, contact our CC team at help.yahoo.com. They have the tools to help with these issues. Hope this helps!
