Go back to previous layout
everything looks the same and it is hard to distinguish between the emails. When I hit a check box the whole column moves and is extremely annoying.
This is the worst email experience that I have ever had.

Dear Consumer Feedback Department,
I've had my yahoo email since I graduated college in 2001. I've loved having it the last 25 years until now. It was fun to have the avatars, but I understand why that did not stick. I absolutely loved having the ability to choose my background or themed wallpaper and I truly do not understand why you took that away so now it is only black and white. I lived on the SF Peninsula for 10 years when Apple, Google and Facebook started and bloomed and I was a beta user for gmail in it's early to current stages and google classroom/drive, facebook applications and Apple applications for classroom purposes as a high school special education teacher whom's school districts partnered with these companies to create products, apps and programs for students, teachers, and regular consumers. Now I use all this for everything and my least favorite right now is the new yahoo mail. The ad column on the right is now twice wider than it used to be so I can no longer see the full width of my inbox messages and I cannot personalize my wallpaper/background of my screen. As a visual learner and retired journalist and professional photographer, how things are visually presented is huge so the points I just made are extremely important. I read that you are trying to streamline everything to be more modern, but truly believe it is important to note that not ALL consumers are into a black and white look. Black, white and grey are my least favorite colors unless its a themed party for a short time. I kept yahoo classic mail as long as it let me, but not it will not let me go back. I truly hope your company can find the happy medium with your goal to be modern, yet flexible for the users who also need colors and background choice. Personalization is still important even when trying to modernize.
I also can no longer use my arrow buttons to slowly scroll down inside an inbox message as those arrows now only hop up the down which email message I'm looking at. If the inbox message I'm reading is a long chain of messages holding down on the touch pad on my laptop and using my other finger to try to slowly scroll does not work as the message skips down too much with only a small movement. So then I just take my smartphone out to slowly scroll and read the email now instead of on my laptop, which defeats the purpose of being efficient on the laptop. Or I have take out and hookup my mouse to use the little finger roller on it to slowly scroll down, which also defeats the purpose of efficiency on the laptop when I used to be able to easily use the arrow buttons to slowly scroll.
I look forward to seeing how you are able to find a happy middle ground for all users/consumers. Please keep in mind that the classic email had a lot of ergonomic options, which in this day and age is still extremely important and helps with EVERYTHING, not just people who have known/diagnosed disabilities. It's also for all ages. I hope you integrate some of what was working and good for all types of consumers back to yahoo mail.
Regards and mostly sincerely,
Melissa Ke -

I do not like the new layout. It is not visually appealing. There is also wasted space on the right side of the screen. Those of us that have been long time users should have access to a legacy version.

Please don't remove the basic e-mail format. Classic format is very inconvenient.
I have been using the basic email for several years, Please give me an option to use the basic email format. Classic email everything shows in one page. Can you please arrange them at 20 in a page. When i select all it check entire email new and old together , and possibility delete all. -

I couldn't select ALL for the topics so I just chose one at random.
Bring back Basic yahoo and allow a choice in whether to keep what you have or upgrade.
New Yahoo is by no means easier to use or navigate.
For example tonight I accidentally STARRED all my emails and then had to unstar them individually because there is no mass unstar.
How is this easier?
Now instead of selecting an email and getting instant results you have to DOUBLE CLICK to get anything to open. One more step and time consuming.
The system choices are not there anymore to prioritize by date or other filters making it difficult to delete unnecessary emails from earlier dates, etc.
You need to poll your users and offer them choices, not simply change things with no way to undo.
These changes are simply unacceptable.
I am looking into dropping yahoo after 20 plus years due to the current changes.

Lost my Classic View and don't like the new view. I feel Classic View should still be an option for others who still want to continue to use it. Everyone who uses any email should not be forced to use the new setup if they choose not to. There should still be an option to choose the Classic View, even if older people like my mom in her 70's still use Yahoo email.

This new look is horrible! It only has light or dark view which is so stupid and unusable. For someone who has eye sight issues this is the worst move you could have done to me and others with sight issues. It also keeps unticking the box for ALL emails and bounces back to PRIMARY emails. The screen is too small and the print is even worse. I need the old version back! My husband still has the older version but WHY I can't have it back? There's no where to revert back to it. This is NOT user friendly!!

Thank you for bringing the sort by sender function to the current Yahoo mail. It is a great improvement, but I also really need to have the other sorting feature from Basic Mail:
Can you also please bring back Basic Mail, including the arrows that allow users to skip to the Beginning & End of all of the messages in a specific folder. There is no other option for navigating a large volume of emails organized by the specific sender's aliases/names without scrolling through all of the alphabetically earlier sender names. As someone who receives multiple emails from several news sources (nytimes, washington post, variety etc) and vendors, not being able to navigate them all by name/alias is a monumental nightmare. As is having to scroll through a few hundred emails to get to ones sent by sender's whose names begin with an "M" or later....

I hate the new yahoo email client. it's too cumbersome. When trying to check the boxes to select multiple emails to delete at one time, if you get on the edge of the box it will open the email. the box is too small. It's too easy to miss it. The old email used to have the email line with a blue background for unopened emails, and a white background for read emails. It was much easier/quicker to navigate the inbox when looking for specific emails. The new email has the graphics too big, so there is not as much information (and many email lines) on the screen. And now my new worst hatred of yahoo mail is this "achievement" bs. This is email it's not a game. I don't need achievements. I need to transmit information electronically. Please get rid of this ridiculous waste of time. I'm a busy person, and i have to stop to clear the screen over some nonsense.
