Why couldn't someone answer my question?

Hover over your address in an email in your mailbox and click on "Add to contacts". Create a saved contact for your own address and edit the name that appears so it's correct.

it changed, but I'm still concerned why and how it had been changed from my name to someone else's

It has been correct recently. I only noticed it was wrong because I happened to send myself an email.

I understand. Contact card details are automatically gathered from your saved address book, mail in the mailbox and any accounts or devices you’ve permitted to sync (like LinkedIn or your mobile phone). Rest assured, your contact card is completely private to you and is not shared with email recipients. You can easily update this information anytime in your Yahoo Contacts settings.

I get that, but why would my contact card be changed to someone else's name without my doing so?
57. You said
And it's a name I don't know.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, this is automated by the system and compiles information directly from your saved address book, mailbox, and any synced accounts or connected devices. Please rest assured that your contact card remains completely private to you and is never shared with email recipients.
We encourage you to post your suggestion on our feedback forum. Our product development teams regularly review user submissions for future features and improvements. You can also visit our help center for additional guidance.

It is an automated that aggregates and displays contact information, email history, and interaction details for people you communicate with. The system automatically compiles contact details using information from your saved Yahoo Address Book, recent email exchanges, and connected accounts or devices permitted to sync.
