I REALLY need a compact view!
I don't like this new look very much at all, but I might be able to get used to it if I can have a compact view. Some themes or colors would be nice too.
Hi there, thank you for submitting feedback! We pushed the new layout a while ago and have been slowly migrating users. The migration is almost complete.
We see a lot of 'Compact View' feedback so we wanted to gather more feedback!
When looking at your Inbox, we have in the top, right hand side, the sorting icon. From there you can change the Inbox Spacing to: Small, Medium, Large. (Screenshot provided). Same under More > Settings > Appearance (Screenshot provided)
So our question to you:
- Are you not seeing these Settings/Choices?
- You DO see them, but you want it even more Compact? How compact is our question?
Thanks for your help!!

Bring back the ligher feeling, more compact email lists. The new one - the font is larger, I'm seeing less of the email title.
Also, make it more compact.Same from the mobile version. I'm scrolling more now, it's very annyoing.

Allow me to make the spacing smaller so I can see more messages. It was in the last version

can there be a configuration to decrease the horizontal spacing between emails so that more can fit on the same page without needing to shrink the size ? maybe that is what "compact view" is going to do?

Why would you release this and force people to use the "new" interface before you have a compact view. new UI/UX is horrible.

Please give us 3rd option in "Preference": "Extra Compact". I want the previous format with NO extra spacing between subject lines. Thank you.

Your note mentions its coming soon, this should be a priority. I do not need to see everything in 14 font with extra spacing, I am not blind. It takes up extra space and time to review your inbox when you have it set this large, please rush this fix.

Can we have an option to have all the panes "touch"? It seems the favored UI idea these days is to have all these useless spaces around everything that just causes the end user to have to scroll endlessly, whether it's up/down or left/right. I don't need gaps between the nav pane and the emails and then between the emails and the Inbox List pane on the right. That's just wasting space I could be using to see my emails. I also don't need a bunch of space between emails. It just causes more scrolling. I'm already looking for another email client that's more compact.

The new layout is RIDICULOUS. I can only display 14 messages in a window taking up 60% of a 15" Macbook display. I used to be able to see 25-30. All that white space is stupid and useless. Maybe some people like it, that's great. But don't force the rest of us onto the new mail until you implement Compact View.

Can you make the list of emails more compact, or at least provide a more compact option? The emails are taking up too much screen real estate.

My main objection to this new version of Yahoo mail is the Inbox spacing. I'd like at least twice as many emails shown per screen, and of course presently it is not tweakable. I saw your promise that it will be tweakable "soon", but honestly, users have been complaining about this issue for years with no action on your part. I haven't dug into all the added features; it looks to me like the only change is that going back to yahoo mail classic has been removed as an option, which, in my opinion, is going in the wrong direction for those of us who need a tight Inbox.

Please restore the compact view. Allow removal of the icon on the far left of each sender. PLEASE allow restoration of the previous very clean and compact no-nonsense layout which I loved. Why this new display? It's less efficient.

REMEMBER that yahoo mail was originally used on desktop system. No all users walk around with their phones stuck in their face. Sure, they live to be "blessed" by all the hacks to flood our inboxes. Your filtering is for email of a decade ago and does a bare minimum and it does nothing for hacks who cycle their email addresses and
It needs an option to squeeze out the excessive white space for the inbox lists. Please display more than 8 lines per page.
Many of us still only check their email only once or twice. This layout is gross for this application.
I still have my hotmail account active, please don't send me back to Microsoft land but this new layout is only marginally useful for dealing the amount of messages than many users.

The size of the titles and preview bits of emails is in much smaller print than in the prior version, but the spacing of lines is farther apart, possibly due to that strange circle in front of each line. The impact result is less emails displayed per screen (only 13 vs previous 24) but with smaller script making it harder to read and more scrolling to work through folders. And hovering over the subject shows the entire subject, but at about half the font size it used to be, making it almost impossible to read easily.
I filed many feedback notices every time I encountered annoying and disruptive issues with the “new version” of Yahoo Email during the time the feedback window was there; then it disappeared. Now I am not sure this list of issues that are frustrating and time wasting is getting to the right team. Apparently, the feedback was ignored and never responded to. And no changes have been made to the new version. Yahoo should make the prior version available to anyone who desires it. That action would probably be enthusiastically received by a vast majority of long-term clients. Above is one of the problems and significantly disruptive changes that have extended my time managing a large amount of incoming email by almost double.

There is too much wasted screen space. The windows for email and content views have gotten smaller and there is a big section to the right not being used. This should be adjustable or even better, able to be removed. Every time you create a new interfae it gets worse than the previous one. Why???

The new layout has too much unused space, difficult to use on smaller screens. A compact version with less white space is reccommended.
In addition the functionality "Create a filter for this message@ is missing, it was very useful, reccomed to add to the new version.

there needs to be an option for narrower email headers or something. The emails are spaced too far apart and are taking up twice as much space because the new interface is trying to be fluffy. It makes it harder to do the split screen view because I can only see half of my regular list of emails on top nor as much information as I used to have in the email at the bottom. Essentially this new format sucks. You could add some sort of option to make changes
