Request to Restore Compact Spacing Options / Allow Legacy Version Access
As a loyal Yahoo Mail user for 30 years, I am highly dissatisfied with the new layout redesign. The complete removal of the "Inbox Spacing" settings forces an unacceptable amount of empty, padded whitespace on my screen. This reduces my visible mailbox to only a few messages at a time and destroys decades of user efficiency.
As a temporary solution while your team works to improve this imperfect layout, I formally request that Yahoo restore a legacy switch option. Allowing users to choose the previous working version or a true "Compact" density layout is essential for accessibility and basic functionality. Please prioritize user utility over empty screen padding.

Restore Compact layout, too much space between emails. Permit blended dark/light mode where emails and email list are white background / black text but all other panes are dark background / white text.

Please release the compact view! I also like the controls to show all the time on the top of the email list. As of right now, they only show up when an email is selected. Maybe I'm the only one that wants that, but maybe not.

As a Yahoo email user for 30 years, it is frustrating when you makes changes which decreases the usability, customization or makes the it more user friendly. This new yahoo email set up does NOT allow us to compact our views of our email list, nor the email itself.

Also, a feature that has never existed with yahoo mail needs to be considered. When filing our emails, have a list of most frequently used email folders (much like outlook does).

Your Inbox view sucks to put it bluntly. How can any software developer cutover to a new version with this sub-par view which is not ready for prime time. Get rid of the cute icons and unnecessary space surrounding messages which do nothing but take up real estate and cause pages of wasted scrolling. So inefficient! The compact view should have been done months before you forced this switch on us...not something promised after the fact! Just simply incomprehensible!

Your changes have made it much more difficult to view my mail, to see which messages are read or unread, and to determine which I might want to delete. I await your "Compact View" in hope that it may offer easier distinctions.

This Option should have been on the site before you ever moved us over to your New Yahoo Email which is not better and has lost things from the Classic Yahoo Emails that I have worked with for years and the reason I stuck with Yahoo. Please give us the Option to go smaller. Right now, it is so Wide that I cannot see all of my emails from the same day that have multiples from the same place that was easy with Classic Emails to put together. Why do you want to keep making such Major Changes to the Email Format and Design when you had something with the Yahoo Classic Email that was really good. You did not improve anything for me with all the bells and whistles that I will not use and have lost other functions that were great with the Classic Yahoo Emails.

Yahoo says "compact view.... is coming soon". Why in heaven's name was this awful new, slow, version forced on us before the compact view option was available.

The new Yahoo Mail layout has significantly increased the space between messages, making it much harder to scan my inbox and see multiple emails at once.

The previous compact layout was much more practical and efficient. The new Appearance settings no longer offer the option to reduce inbox spacing.

Please restore the Small inbox spacing option, or provide a compact view that allows users to choose how much space appears between messages.

Not every user prefers a spacious, simplified interface. Please give users the choice to customize their inbox as before.

I HATE being forced to use a new layout without control of it!
Each email is spread out too much. I want to choose one row with the sender, or two rows to include the subject too. This should allow the preview on the right. There is no reason to force THREE rows per email. If some people prefer that, fine. Make it configurable.
Being able to reduce the space between emails would be helpful too. I want to see as many emails on the screen as possible with a normal font size (without zooming out).

I'm adding this edit because I'm expected to indicate if this issue is Important or Critical. You judge. My browser has one tab for Yahoo and one for Gmail. I hate, really HATE, looking at the Yahoo tab. It disgusts me. (Don't get me started about the ads.)

Inbox spacing is terrible. I don't want it all spread out. Changing email providers if this option is not restored. **** this.

Please roll out the compact view ASAP. There are too much white spaces in the new interface. I prefer a compact view but now there is no way to revert back to the Classic version.

I really do not like this new view of the mailbox. Please revert back to the old style.

WAY too much wasted space in the new view. Return compact view. Make the top search bar MUCH smaller. Reduce white space on the whole page. I can only see 6 emails at a time, which is unacceptable. If this is not fixed VERY soon, I will be leaving Yahoo mail after 25 years.

Also, make AI summaries and all AI features FULLY toggleable. I have them turned off, but summaries still appear. I do NOT want them.

Also, make the gamification on the app FULLY toggleable. Stop interrupting my emails with Halloween events and streak notifications. I am here to work, not entertain you.

The main reason the "old" email look and feel was better is that it was vertically more compact --- you could see more emails on a page. It didn't waste verttical space on those icons at left.

Get rid of those icons, which do nothing except take up vertical space, and the "give us back the old email" crowd will be happy.

Less whitespace between email listings to maximize the subjects that can be seen without scrolling, and also in the left pane so folders list can be seen

Everything is too big and bubbly. There is too much happening and is overwhelming to look at. I prefer the classic version.

I'm assuming that "Compact Views coming soon" might be about how horrible the dimensions are when viewing emails. I have mine set so that the emails are to the left, and when I select the email, I see the content of the email to the right. Everything is way too tight. I have to use the scroller to read the entire email. I don't really like anything about the new Yahoo email, but this is the most annoying. Make it so the emails can be viewed as they used to be before. I never had any trouble reading an entire email without having to scroll side to side constantly. And I've tried adjusting things manually, but nothing moves.

The new Yahoo Mail layout is too large and spaced out, meaning fewer emails are visible on screen at once. The header bar of the email preview panel is also unnecessarily large, taking up valuable screen space.

Please consider:
- Giving users more control over the layout rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all design.
- Adding a compact view option to reduce row height, preview panel header size and unnecessary spacing that some users don't want.

Ideally, users should be able to choose their preferred layout and spacing settings.

In my opinion, the previous layout made much better use of screen space and was more efficient to use.
