Do not bold both the "from" line and "subject" line
It is so much harder to scan for emails that pop out having both fields bolded. Not sure if there is more to it than that, but I still prefer the look of the classic inbox and wish I could switch back to that.

Hi Heather, we are currently not changing the unread v read.
Unread = bolded and purple dot
When we first launched the new design, we had it highlighted and not highlighted and that caused more noise and confusion, therefore, we moved to this and it's doing a lot better, with much better user feedback too. Thanks!
