Hello. While we cannot speak about specific comments, policy interpretations, or actions action in relation to specific comments outside of with their original poster, we seek to apply the Yahoo Community Guidelines as evenly, fairly, and objectively as possible.

I have been noticing this as well not to mention " Your comment failed to publish". Seems something is broken and needs fixing. Admin are you watching this one?

Here's good example of a comment that gets auto rejected as soon as I hit post for the wrong reasons:
"I was successful in using a dishwasher detergent pac in cleaning my Hamilton Beach coffee machine and its metal carafe.I put the pac in a filter then run through 2 cycles to clean the carafe."
Perhaps auto rejection AI needs fine tuning. No need for spurious rejections and offer ways to say something better like words that can be replaced. It's getting ridiculously hard to word something that won't get rejected either by the AI or by a human.

There needs to be a better way to handle rejections. Perhaps there should be a good reason displayed in the rejection email along with a comment from the staffer reviewing the comment. In addition there should be a mechanism for people to challenge rejections. This way feedback should be both ways as I feel that posts are getting rejected merely for ideological reasons by Yahoo staff. If this becomes a problem then that may reduce the quality of comments just to avoid rejection.

If you want to post a link to an article that requires registration or a paid subscription why not put a disclaimer stating something like "This link is to a 3rd party article that requires a paid subscription or registration to view".

If a comment is rejected, can there be a link to dispute the rejection? This will go a long way to improving the AI and where can the list of banned words be found so that they can be avoided? I would also suggest a "Did we get this wrong?" button to submit the post to a real human for review and perhaps with a feedback from the mod.

Thought there was a Report button and is it just me that it's gone? Seems Yahoo is using the AI auto-moderation to keep the posts that *appear* to violate TOS from being posted or being automatically rejected.

Totally agree, the AI automoderation is pretty messed up and either a "Did we get this wrong?" button or a link to a chat with admin/moderator would be great an addition. This way the AI can continually learn whats good what's bad.

A dark theme is a great idea as it helps reduce eyestrain especially in older readers. Please make this happen!!!

perhaps there's too many triggered moderators and to me bans should only be handed out to those who make threats or continually violating the rules. Were you ever notified of the ban?

This is a great idea as too many articles point to a paywall and that tends to irk people. Perhaps there should be a way to show alternate articles that are NOT behind a paywall.

if a user was reported over and over again perhaps that's what should be done. Before the comments got taken away, trolls would flood the comment sections posting gibberish and hate but nothing was done about them. Where do the reports go. to the admins directly? if so then admins should be reviewing post history to block the true abusers of the comment sections.

I have been noticing this as well and it's very irritating as this has been going on for a very long time. Have made very few posts as kept getting this "Your Comment failed to post..." and the retry button that never works. Seems it gets harder and harder to post on this platform as been a member for well over 20 years. No one at Yahoo seems to care as far as I can tell....so sad to see.
