I hate it. This layout hurts the eyes to read. Why not at least provide an option to add and customize colors? There is no strong column separation between categories, it all blends together. Really really difficult to look at. No thanks.

This layout is DESPERATELY missing some color - not just for cosmetic purposes, but as a functional way to separate the different areas of the layout. Everything is against a white background, so there is no distinction and the eye cannot focus on the writing area of the email. Add some color to the tools/icons along the left side, as well as the send/forward/ options along the top vertical edge. This gives the user a much easier way to quickly discern where the page borders are. It's too bland and sterile.
