Your moderators rejected a comment I made that celebrated escaped research monkeys and wished they'd lead "happy, torture-free" lives. Please explain to me how THIS COMMENT violates your community guidelines. Seriously, I want someone from Yahoo! News to explain to me like I am a five-year-old why wishing good for wildlife is problematic and violates any community guidelines! That is certainly not a community I want to be any part of!

Have a global setting for Comment notifications.
Having to set Comment notification preferences on EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL COMMENT is absolutely ridiculous!
Why doesn't Yahoo have a global (account wide) notification setting for this?

My comments on Yahoo News have been disengaged, for no apparent reasons. Furthermore despite repeated attempts to correct this, I've had no positive response from Yahoo.

The comment section needs a lot of work
As much as I love using Yahoo to get a nice smattering of news, you REALLY need to fix the comment sections.
Far too often, I'm signed in but I get the "sign up to post" button when I'm trying to post a comment. I log in, successfully, but the button remains "Sign up to post".
The filter needs a ton of work too. People regularly attack others using disguised words and phrases, but the filter rejects comments that are in no way offensive or are attacking or insulting anyone. It has zero concept of context.

Quit refreshing the page and moving the cursor/focus out of the comment field every 10 seconds
It seems to take forever to type a comment in Yahoo due to the fact that the cursor (focus) gets moved out of the text box so frequently that I spend as much time on the mouse refocusing the cursor on the comment text box as I do typing a comment. RIDICULOUS!!! This text box here shows that you can have a persistent text box that works just fine.
Revamp your code to make it more user friendly. Or, if the object is to make commenting as difficult as possible, then just get rid of comments altogether.

I made the mistake of reporting comments that were racist, sexist, or threatening. I saw it as volunteering a small fraction of my time to keep the comments from being against the "Community Guidelines." Due to my efforts, I now find that 100% of my comments are rejected for not following "Community Guidelines." When I appeal, the result is automatic and instantaneous--I lose the appeals and the computer program reiterates that my comment was not following "Community Guidelines."
