1. Yahoo Canada’s coverage excludes most of Canada

   To the Yahoo Communications Team,

   I am writing to explain why I have decided to stop using Yahoo as my homepage and daily source for news and information.

   Yahoo has served as my daily online hub, and I will continue using Yahoo Mail. However, I can no longer rely on the Yahoo Canada homepage as a meaningful source of Canadian news, updates or insight.

   From my experience, Yahoo Canada’s coverage is overwhelmingly focused on Southern Ontario, particularly Toronto and the surrounding region. News and developments from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Atlantic Canada, Northern Canada and communities outside the Greater Toronto Area receive comparatively little attention.

   I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. When I visit a service presented as Yahoo Canada, I expect to see a reasonable reflection of the entire country. Instead, the homepage often feels like a Toronto or Southern Ontario regional service carrying a Canadian label.

   This persistent geographic bias creates an exclusionary experience for Canadians living outside that region. It leaves the impression that our communities, concerns and accomplishments are less important or less worthy of coverage. After repeatedly encountering this imbalance, I have finally decided to move to another homepage and news provider.

   I am not writing because of one article or one isolated editorial decision. I am writing because this has become a consistent pattern that has gradually removed Yahoo’s relevance to me as a Canadian living outside Ontario.

   Please forward this message to the people responsible for Yahoo Canada, Yahoo News and the Canadian homepage. I hope Yahoo will seriously review how its Canadian content is selected and whether the current approach genuinely represents the country it claims to serve.

   I would appreciate confirmation that this feedback has been received and forwarded to the appropriate editorial or product leadership.

   I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the article titled "TikToker says she skipped TSA," written by Sohini, published by The Daily Dot and syndicated on Yahoo News: https://www.yahoo.com/news/us/articles/tiktoker-says-she-skipped-tsa-111658301.html

   The article features an image/screenshot from X (formerly Twitter) that contains casual racism. The inclusion of this screenshot—and by extension, the amplification of this rhetoric—is deeply concerning. By presenting this material as a standard example within the piece without appropriate contextualization or condemnation, the article effectively normalizes and spreads discriminatory language.

   This contradicts the fundamental standards of responsible journalism, which should aim to report on viral trends without contributing to the proliferation of hate speech or harmful tropes.

   I am requesting that you review the editorial decision to include this specific screenshot. I believe the article should be immediately updated to remove the offensive social media post, and I am requesting a formal acknowledgment and apology for the distress and harm its publication has caused.

   Responsible media outlets have a duty to ensure that their platforms and syndication pipelines do not serve as amplifiers for racism. I look forward to hearing how you intend to address this matter and what steps will be taken to prevent similar oversight in the future.

3. Lose the Bias

   There's an article about Charlie Kirk's memorial titled "20 Photographs of Charlie Kirks Memorial that will be hard to explain to future generations." It's just pictures of the crowd, Trump and Erica. Why would that be hard to explain. The author, because they don't deserve the title "journalist", was just having a temper tantrum because they don't like Trump. I see articles all the time that are biased but this is the worst. I know I dont matter, but you have lost all respect I ever had for this company. The man killed in front of his family. He was dead, so since he couldn't defend himself, Yahoo took advantage of that and threw a political temper tantrum.

4. The "edit" function on a Yahoo News comment isn't working

   I posted a reply in a comment section, and later realized I had used the wrong word. I selected the three dots to the right of the comment and then tried to select "edit," but that option was grayed out. When I moused over it, a red circle with a diagonal line appeared.

   Your news feed has an embarrassing amount of **** that contains non-factual reporting, WHY? I have used Yahoo for years but recently switched my news feed because I don't want to have to wade through all of the BS articles.

   How can I remove toxic Fox News from my Yahoo news feed?!? I found a way to do it on the Yahoo News app but for the desktop there are no longer 3 dots on the article to remove. 15. Where is the mute button?

    When you redesigned the comments section, you forgot a few things:

    1) the option to mute users! that way we can safely skip having to see troll remarks. Otherwise we have to report them. Do you need that much more work?

    2) the option to downvote dumb, harmful, or outright rude comments. I don't think many of them need a smiling emoji and with how hateful the comments usually are, they don't rate a positive response, which us all you're giving us. Which leaves no option but reporting them

    So let's get that fixed. Soon if you can please.

18. Comments not siding with Israel are being flagged as Antisemtic

    Yahoo will post a high charged article example the War in Gaza and if you comment on it citing that its genocide or side in anyway with the Palestinians you will get a Bann. MY suggestion turn the comments off. Its horrible to see people writing in bias making people think that everyone believes a certain way.

20. Your news articles have become wildly unbalanced. For years there was a balance of pro-con articles. Now, articles are 90+% from the left.

    How about equal balance? 50% left, 50% right. Yahoo's bias is blatantly obvious.
