Dynasty/Keepers - Leave league open to allow trading, adds, and drops during the offseason.
This would allow managers to make all league transactions within the platform, including adds, drops, and trades, throughout the year.

I agree. I shouldn't have to do all this research to figure out how all my off season trades are gonna work out. I've been doing this for hours and no concise answer. Like If I trade away my draft pick for a new keeper, it won't be updated till after the draft? So how am I suppose to set a player as a keeper if I can't see them in my roster? More than enough reason to switch to another fantasy program to manage our league. Please just turn on trade capability....today.

In my other ESPN keeper league we are trading players, adding/dropping on the waiver wire, and editing players on our trading block to keep communication lines open and offers coming in. Basically all functions available during the course of season play, we are doing right now months before our draft, and year-round. It only closes for a month per year, and we have every ability of the league at all times to edit rosters, trade, pick up prospects from the waiver wire, have up-to-date rosters, etc.. Why can't Yahoo! stay on par with the other sites?

My league makes numerous offseason trades involving draft picks for top players. We keep track of everything on Google Docs. If Yahoo can't support the ability to manage a roster year round, at the very least a commissioner should be able to move players from one teams roster to another, before keeper selection. This would make off season activity much easier to manage.

please correct this yahoo

I agree. Keeper Leagues need to run year round with all these functions still in tact.

I've made this request several times since last year. Not being able to utilize the trade block in off-season fro dynasty/keeper leagues is a joke. C'mon Yahoo! pull your head out. The people have spoken.

true. I made the same request each year for the last 3 years to no avail. We're all wasting our breath here. Yahoo doesn't give 2 s***s about its users.

B: They are better at deleting posts and removing offensive language than they are at listening to any suggestions or acting on them. You give them way too much credit. Do yoou realize that this request has been made and discussed on this forum over and over again for the last 5 years? Each time they "gather feedback", all of which is logical and mirrors the rationale in this thread, and they NEVER change anything.

Come on Yahoo... Wake up and listen!!!

It seems so simple and common sense for those that play a keeper/dynasty league to have the ability to have those offseason changes logged and tracked year round. Little help here yahoo.

Nice work Yahoo!! Delete any posts are necessary for anyone impersonating Yahoo!. Kudos!
Now people can get back to actually making suggestions regarding the need to edit rosters so that keeper leagues can keep their rosters up-to-date months away from the NFL schedule. Opening the trade feature all year will allow for the off-season trades to be put through as well. As long as there are options to custom any cut-off dates that each league chooses, we can easily have this problem solved.
Eg. If a league chooses to have no trade deadline at all, we should be able to trade players all the way though the playoffs (even though we don't as a "gentleman's agreement" in my leagues to try to have the longest extended trading timelines), but we should be able to trade after championship week as well, instead of it closing right away. We purposely chose "No Trade Deadline" for this feature, but it disappointingly cuts off. "No trade deadline" apparently means "3 more weeks" currently.
If a commissioner chooses the option the import last years rosters (as it prompts you to choose when renewing a keeper league) it should automatically have the option imported to edit rosters at any time. Then the keepers can be set, then the league can draft the correct players. Even if the trade feature is off, the commish should always be able to edit things. Now, the commish has to set the draft manually, but I don't know how you set a keeper that is not currently on your roster, and the commish cannot put them onto your roster.
As far as the trade timelines, I suggest a beginning and end date to have the commissioner set and edit up until the draft occurs, then it freezes, just like most options. In a perfect world, I would set my league to be able to trade from the day the league is renewed (or possibly start when all teams are finalized if all teams need to be present first). Then I would have the trades suspended for a certain amount of weeks during the playoffs (which we do as gentlemen currently), then open again when a champion has won, and then open until the league actually closes. I know that Yahoo! opened earlier than ever this year, and are probably aiming to have as little downtime as possible between seasnons. If this suggested way with a hiatus isn't possible, we would gladly have the trades never close, and have a "gentleman's agreement" to not trade in weeks 12-16. A commish can reverse any shenanigan's with this anyway, but that hiatus in the middle of a fully open trading league would be fantastic!
Either way, our league has been staring at our teams that don't even have the correct players on them since the day the league opened with no recourse. It's not awesome, and a third party site we are forced to use daily alongside to chat and make offers because it contain all of the information and correct rosters, is I'm sure the opposite of what Yahoo! wants to see.

A sarcastic thank-you to the jerk of a user posing as "Yahoo! Product Support" on multiple Feedback topics. I'm sure we all impressed by your cowardly rouse to deter people that honestly help to make these sites better for everyone. I'm sure we'll hear from you again, being that you have enough time in your sad, pathetic life to seek out new ways to throw wrenches into the proverbial gears of progress.
To others: keep posting to show Yahoo! that we as users need more functionality with the site constantly as our Fantasy leagues continue to grow in numbers and creativity. We'll continue to suggest the options we need to see, or what other free Fantasy Sports sites can do currently that Yahoo! does not.

Well Yahoo...? THis suggestion is shooting up the charts yet you've made no moves to open up rosters or allow trading. Let's go. Please stop sucking so bad.
p.s. When are you going to finally fix the Pre Draft rankings? It still is HORRIBLE despite your feeble attempts. Just put back last years. Once again... please stop sucking so bad. You really are the worst fantasy site the last 2 seasons. From best to worst. You must be so proud.

The original post makes sense.
So you can count on Yahoo NOT to implement it. LOL
Yahoo sucks.

actually the tool should be available if your league is predraft and your rosters are imported and it's before your keeper deadline OR the league is post draft. If you give me a league id I can check why it is not available for your league.

It is available now but you have to make sure to finalize teams and set the keeper deadline to an earlier date, I believe by default it is set to sometime in late August.
