Dynasty/Keepers - Leave league open to allow trading, adds, and drops during the offseason.
This would allow managers to make all league transactions within the platform, including adds, drops, and trades, throughout the year.

I've had enough of this crap from Yahoo commented
Bravo for the original suggestion. In my leagues the commish has to keep track of all off-season trades because Yahoo for some inexplicable reason doesn't understand that the leagues have player trades and transactions throughout the off season. It's as if the people at Yahoo have no idea how keeper leagues function. Yahoo seems to be completely in a fog.

Hey Yahoo: This would be a Very important change for all keeper and dynasty leagues. Make it happen!

Why is Yahoo so ignorant about how Keeper and Dynasty leagues function? It is a year round activity and trades are made in the off season. Why make us keep track of all that separately? Makes no sense.
When it comes down to it, Yahoo essentially sucks and we'd be better off going elsewhere.

my yahoo keeper leagues have to keep all the off season roster changes on a spread sheet with continual edits throughout the off season because for some inexplicable reason Yahoo prevents trades, roster edits and all of the things most leagues do in the off season. It's ridiculous that we have to keep track of all of this on the side and not directly on our league page. Makes no sense. We are probably moving to RTS or something similar where we have year round access and roster change capability. Simply put, there is not one logical reason why roster edits by the commish, trades and the like can not be permitted. Just lock add/drop and waivers if you want, but definitely allow trades and commissioner edits.

From what I can gather, it won't let you edit rosters as a commissioner or trade players between teams until the Keeper Selection Date has past, which just handcuffs leagues that play all year and trade players and picks constantly. I ask, is the keeper declaration that important? It isn't in Custom Private leagues, because the commish sets each keeper into draft position manually in a Custom Order. I know as manager, I set the entire draft manually with keepers and traded picks I have logged. So, it is puzzling why I cannot edit rosters with the trades that we have already made off line, and let players know whom is on which team to begin with.
Maybe that is the difference that needs to be looked at. For custom private leagues, all abilities of trading and editing rosters should be open all the time. Maybe not for public Keeper/Dynasty leagues, because it might cause problems when people don't know each other at all, and there could be collusion and cheating. Declaring Keepers in an auto-draft may be important too for both Private and Public leagues, but that should be a stipulation of an auto-draft, not all leagues.
Again Custom Leagues should have the ability to alter anything they see fit, and the league should be closed for the least amount of time possible a year. That is the fun of a custom league, being active on Yahoo! everyday!

Thank you. I made a similar post here for the last 3 years about this. It bears repeating..... are you finally listening Yahoo?

I am actually blown away that I can't edit my league's teams with our off-season trades in a dynasty/keeper league. This seems like the simplest of solutions, and huge oversight! Why does setting your keepers have anything to do with editing a roster?
On top of that, you cannot trade in the off-season as well. What the **** is the point of selecting a setting to not have a trade deadline in our league, if you can ONLY trade after the draft and it ends championship week?!?! We play all year Yahoo!! Why do we have to use a 3rd party webpage to track transactions for this site in the offseason?
C'mon Yahoo! Trades and Editing rosters are needed by dynasty/keeper leagues 100% of the time!

How many times yahoo? just open the fricken trading block already

Agreed. If were not allowed to have the "trade" option open pre-keeper selection, at least let us edit the rosters so we don't have to wait 2 months for our trades to reflect in the line up.

This needs to happen!! So crazy that it isn't possible. Even if for whatever reason, Yahoo cant keep the leagues open all year, at least when we renew them and bring back our rosters we should be able to trade right away. As mentioned previously; I'm the commish in a league and to have the added responsibility of keeping track of everyone's offline trades for 2-3 months, just to have to input them (we have very trade-active league) manually once we choose our keepers (after last pre-season game) is ridiculous!! It seems like a simple solution..allow trading of players and picks in the off season, before keepers are chosen (or after, why not a choice!?)

C'mon yahoo. I've seen many other comments over the last 6 months that asked for this. Open the darn trading block early, like right now, today, this minute!! It's to hard to conduct trades with out the trading block open. Plus, it sucks as the commish to deal with someone elses trade and have to input everything. Also, the league doesn't get to veto the trade because no one is aware, unless i facilitate it.

I agree,, this is needed. Keep fantasy football up year long, as several people and teams like to compete year long. This includes trades in the off-season before the draft.
If I have a league that is 4 keepers, my 5th and 6th best players are nbetter than somebody else's keeper's, it is fun to work out a deal to help both teams before the draft, with the possibility of trading draft picks too, makes for a great deal of suspense in the offseason

I second this motion. It is really frustrating not to be able to enter off season trades into Yahoo until after the draft. It forces the commish to keep track of all of them outside of the league home.
Really lame yahoo.
Don't you know that keeper leagues and dynasty leagues have lots of off season transactions and roster changes??? Why the **** do you lock everything up? It makes no sense at all!

Yahoo doesn't understand how Keeper leagues work. They don't get that keeper leagues make trades in the off season!!! Right now, we have to track off season trades manually and adjust rosters manually.
Geez, Yahoo... why are you so amazingly DUMB? Just turn on trades for keeper leagues so teams can make off season trades.
