Rosters/Lineups - Roster limits for positions.
This feature would allow commissioners to set the maximum and minimum number of players a team can roster at each position at a given time. For example, teams can have a maximum of 3 QBs on their roster or a team can have a minimum of 1 kicker. Currently there is no way to set the maximum or minimum number of players a team can roster at each position.
To prevent managers from "hogging" players/teams especially at the QB, TE, K, and Def/St. positions. Makes it difficult for managers to roster positions especially during bye weeks when this occurs and is not checked. It is really noticeable at the Def/St. position.
Allow for the editing of rosters positions for minimum and maximum number of players/teams for each position.

I am almost confused why Yahoo hasn't implemented this already.

This is a must! ESPN does this and is a basic feature that the commish should be able to enforce. For example, some teams hord QBs and/or RBs. Shouldn't be allowed.

This would be a great addition. It would prevent RB hoarding. It would also improve SuperFlex leagues since people could be limited to having 2QBs on the roster, ensuring everyone gets two starting QBs.
The point is to prevent teams from hoarding and have more than 3 QBs/TE's/Def/St's/K's.
Being able to limit how many QB's, K's, Defenses, a team can hold on there roster at any one time.

This is a must. People horde players, especially RB, and it’s crazy. I don’t think it’s strategy to stock pile players. Strategy is mixing and matching players based off bye weeks and matchups. In my league of 12, I’ve had the bench set at 5 for an 12 player rostered team. That’s the only way I can stop the hoarding. It still is difficult.

this request was from 2015, yikes

I enjoy setting up 2 QB leagues. The only reason that I don't do it more often is because people can hoard QB's and mess up the rosters of others. Commissioners should have the option of limiting the number of players that you can draft per position in custom leagues.

This is super useful in IDP leagues as well. Typically more bench spots because you have to fill out a defence as well as an offence. It would be great to have the option to appoint bench spots to either O or D. I dont care so much about the actual position, and having the option doesnt mean that leagues would have to use it. I for one would love to have this in my league (14 team keeper w IDP). The only option to control this now is to manually police it as commish (which sucks), use the honour rule (most owners are good about it) or to reduce the number of bench spots, which kinda sucks (we use 6 bench and 1 IR). I would be great to be able to have 4 Offensive bench and 2 Defensive bench spots. Just my two cents

Yahoo needs to do this. I wouldn't change anything like this mid-season, but we have a yearly league that needs this at least for our 2021 season. We do 1QB and 1Superflex position. In the draft we have people drafting and hoarding 5-7 QB's. ESPN offers this level of customization, Yahoo needs to do something to try to keep up. You're falling WAY behind Yahoo!!!

This would help prevent people from stock piling one position or another

Allow us to max out players being drafted in our draft. I have a 2QB league for 8 teams. I want everyone maxed at 3.

Love this idea hoarding kills leagues.
Right now in 2020 fantasy is totally out of control. PPR & flex have ruined the fantasy game.
20 team leagues are for those who hate competition. You can't have a league where teams have little shot at a starting QB on a bye week.
Assigned bench positions are for those who have been stuck in hoarding leagues it is definitely not a bad idea. But the better idea is restricting the number of bench positions. You really only need 4 bench positions 5 at the most in a strictly offensive league. 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE/K/Def.
So go with that because it's likely max position will never happen.
As for those who think it's too restrictive you are crazy. You will then have a full selection of RB in the free agent pool BUT is that player in the pool worth snagging over the RB you do have, knowing he will likely be stolen from the pool?!
All leagues need to get back to basics 1 point per 10, 20 per point passing. If you go back to this PPR is not necessary.
How do I know? Because I did the research.
Last season ALL WR's averaged over 13 yards per catch that's from Michael Thomas to Quincy Enunwa's 1 catch for -4 yards.
So now do it with those who actually play in fantasy like the top 50 that number would be even higher!
Even TE averaged over 10 per catch from Travis Kelce to Eric Tomlinson 1 catch for 1 yard.
Again look at those who actually play in fantasy, say top 30 that number would also be higher.
RB averaged 4.2 a carry from Derrick Henry to Danny Vitale's 1 attempt for 3 yards.
Now go again with the top 30 that number to should be even higher.
RB averaged 7.8 yards per catch last season from CMC to Senorise Perry's 1 catch for 1 yard.
RB often get 2 touches per first 3 plays of a drive,
Again the whole idea of fantasy is to move the chains & with those numbers that is exactly what will happen if not that's what we call a 3 & out.
Punters punted an average of 65 times per team that's a lot of 3 & outs, hence no need for PPR!
PPR is not in the game flex is not in the game bonus points are not in the game.
You should have 3 WR in your line up no flex. Flex is for hoarders & those who dislike competition.
A receiver can catch a 5 yard pass for a first down or he can catch it for a basic 5 yards there is no difference
A kicker kicks for a 25 yard field goal or a 60 yard field goal it's 3 points no matter which. You want bonus points draft the guy who kicked the most 50 yarders. That information is available.
You want 3 RB on your bench that kills the competition of your league because you will likely not even play one of them.
Dave Randall commented
Your system defaults for mock and actual drafts fills the starting lineup positions first causing kickers and defenses to be selected too early and skewing draft results. Reposition these auto selections to later in the draft process.
Dennis W. Towle, Jr. commented
In an Autodraft, I'd like to be able to adjust the number of players picked in any one position. I do not want to draft 2 kickers, I'd rather draft 1 kicker and opt to get an extra WR or RB.

BIG MUST HAVE!!! Too many people (the uneducated or nefarious ones) horde RBs during the season. Please ad feature. But allow Commissioners to set the limit.
Tom Kirk commented
Must Have. Please give Commissioners this "Option". Position Limits is vital to help maintain draft integrity. Too many people quit a draft or play games and horde RBs. This must me a limit feature for draft day and throughout the entire season. --- Please add "Position Limits" feature that Commissioners can utilize at their own discretion.
If they are hoarding QBs, then they are lacking subs at other positions.
So, are you using 2QBs, but just 1 K & DEF ?
That problem is easy to solve -- use 2 Ks & 2 DEFs.
