By definition a turnover on downs is a turnover. Moreover it is a turnover based off of a positive performance of the defense. The NFL has been trending towards teams going for it on 4th down much more often. I think defenses should be rewarded for stopping those efforts if they are capable. I think one point would be fair for a turnover on downs that way there is value for the defense but it’s still less than an interception or a fumble.
