Add new "Two NFL Teams only league format -It is fun
I don't know if you have access to one of my league titled "2 NFL teams" (ID 87656), but if you do, check it out. I/We self-manage the use of add-on rules to where each manager owns the rights to the players from just two NFL teams. Here is how it works - A) works best with 10 managers, but can use 12 B) Off-line snake draft, just two rounds C) Each round consists of drafting a Team DEF D) Commissioner manually puts each managers drafted Team DEF on the respective rosters E) Managers then can ONLY select players for which they own a Team DEF on their roster F) Plays like a regular league after that with a few extra rules to note - 1) Everything keys off of managers ownership of a Team DEF. 2) managers are allowed to drop and pick up Team DEF throughout the year by dropping their Team DEF at the same time they are picking up a Team DEF 3) If a manager has a team on a BYE week, they are allowed to select up to three free agents/waiver wires from an NFL team that is a non-rostered Team DEF, then on the following Tuesday, they must drop the three added players 3) In the event one manager is trying to drop and pick up a new Team DEF off of waivers at the same time another manager has a BYE week and is trying to add a player from that same Team DEF, if the manger trying to add the player rostered them first, they get to keep that player just for that week, afterwards the added player could only be picked up by the new owner of the rostered Team DEF, but if the manager rosters the Team DEF first, the other manager must give their BYE week pick up to the manager of the Team DEF (the commissioner looks for this and would make the move). We have been running this league for about 4 years now. Interesting enough it appears their is no advantage to which draft slots a manager gets as how people place in the standings is very different each year. Example, for 2025 1st place went to the manager drafting 7th and 14th, second place went to the manager drafing 2nd and 19th, In past years the podium finishers came from all different draft slots. Anyway, it is a lot of fun and allows people to focus on just a couple of teams, which usually ends up being teams the manager likes. If there were a way to where Yahoo could make this an optional league format and put in the controls to have the added rules be automatically implemented, that would be awesome!
Again, thanks for allowing me to weigh in. I have actually been a fantasy football commissioner for over 40 years now, dating back to when I had to look up the stats in the newspaper.
Be well!
