Don't try improve this almost dead born software with autism. Find another playground for your experiments. Return powerful, fast working classic Yahoo Finance software. No Thanks.

The new format is horrible. Doesn't even show the daily close for the Dow Jones and I've searched for it. Stop tormenting users and return to 'Classic' format. If not, I will be looking for another data provider.

Obviously the new layout has not been well received by many users. Here are my thoughts as to why that is the case and what I do not like about it:
Market snapshot: Live prices for SP500/NASDAQ/GOLD has been moved from its own horizontal ribbon at the top of the page where it was easy to see quickly how the markets are doing to a small box on the right. It is impossible to get a quick snapshot of the state of the market now and takes effort to scroll through and harder to see.News: There are too many articles squished right at the top center now making it impossible to read the headlines at a glance. The text has also been shrunk to try to cram more into a smaller space, making it impossible to quickly assess and skim through important headlines.
Portfolio: The dedicated vertical ribbon on the right for our portfolio of followed stocks has been squeezed to the point that you can't read the full names of things. This needs to be widened.
Basically the three main changes are the three things that should be changed back to return to a better and more efficient user experience :)

There is a lot of other missing functionality in the new UI. Hovering the cursor over the graph no longer shows Change %. This was a very useful piece of information! Now, I have to calculate it myself??
I used to be a UI developer and whenever we changed the UI, we never deleted existing features!
You need to understand this concept!

Please move the indexes and markets back to the top horizontally. Also, please change them back to BIG text instead of making it like fine print! That other stuff that you have chosen to magnify is less important!
PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR USERS!

Index graphs, my stocks all on one page
the scroll arrows on the indexes widgets (the grid of world indexes) don't work, neither does selecting a headingThe new design does not support the decisions I need to make as an investor and therefore seems not to satisfy primary use cases

If the new portfolio view is an attempt to entice users to "Upgrade To Premium" by making the new view worse than the last ... The only thing it will accomplish is driving away users ... Remember Yahoo makes money by how many users actually access the site and see the ads, if we're not here les ads are viewed!
