Compact folder list
Even with messages in the most compact view, the folder list now has so much space between folders I can only see the first 6. Allow folder list to be more compact, but stretch wider to view full folder names

I agree 100% -- this is the main reason I keep going back to CLASSIC mail.

This problem also applies to the Move dropdown.
Vertical screen space is not used very effectively in this design.

I don't want "Views" in the middle of the left frame and there is too much white space between folder names. It wasn't difficult to read before, and now it just requires extra scrolling to get to the folders I want to see.

Folders are how I sort things (not by documents, photos, starred, etc.).
Please
1) let me hide/collapse all that other stuff if I don't want it (completely, not just to a "show" line with extra space above and below)
2) give a compact option for the spacing, so I can see more folders
3) change the width or font so I can read my folder names (folder names which I could read in the old version are now truncated). -

Please compact folder list.

Way too much space between folder listing on left side. Smaller font does not make a difference.

some say too much space between folder names, mine are too close together, and cuts off half the name. must be font size. Needs more control on these things.

I like the new cleaner, more modern look! However, the spacing of the folders is too large, is there a way to control the spacing such that a user can 'condense' the folder view to see more folders on the left-side? Going in the right direction! Hooray for Yahoo Mail!

Entirely too much space between folder names on left listing. I don't see why there needs to be any extra space at all. Requires too much scrolling.

The folder list has far too much spacing, requiring scrolling which should not be necessary!

There is too much wasted space on the screen in general. The banner at the top is too big (vertically too wide)
There is an unnecessary annoying space between the day / month word at the top of the message list and the first (top) message.
There should be an option to create own user backgrounds / background colour gradients
