Very slow - it takes few seconds to react if i select any option in the mail.
I have been using yahoo mail for around 15 years, for last few years I have been facing very poor performance. it takes time to load the mail and it doesn't react immediately to perform any action. I have to wait for few seconds to work with the mails.
its dam slow, but when I see gmail it is really good to work with emails.
I don't want to switch to gmail, because the only hope I have is that yahoo mail will be improved(performance) in future.
the basic and the mandate service we look at the mail is for the faster emailing. if it doesn't fulfill then it is no use of adding additional feature.

It IS very slow to tag emails (for deleting, for example). It's very rare that a modern web app from a major company performs so poorly.

It takes more than a few seconds for me - as much as 10 to 20. This is totally unacceptable service.

This new format is terrible. Anything you do has a 2 to 5 second delay and it is very frustrating. I am fairly sure that Yahoo won't do anything to improve the poor performance because the slowness and delay is intentional on their part - they want to force anyone who doesn't want to deal with that, to pay for the premium ad-free email option that they offer. Posting complaints about how bad Yahoo mail is, isn't going to do a **** bit of good because they really don't care. It's all about making money, even though they already get plenty of revenue from those annoying pop-up ads. The choices are this; switch to gmail (which I already use now more than Yahoo) pay for Outlook or some other program or deal with the sub-par performance offered by Yahoo. I'd rather not give my money to a company that deliberately offers a bad product like Yahoo does so I am going to start using gmail as my primary provider.

Agree completely. The lag time writing emails makes using my laptop almost unthinkable. Not only does it take many seconds to react after clicking an option, while I'm typing it takes several seconds to load what I'm writing, which is infuriatingly bothersome and leads to numerous typos, which take forever to correct because, again, this hellacious lag. What's the deal, Yahoo? Are your ads creating the issue? Is it a design flaw? It needs to be fixed immediately!

OMG it is so slow! It is the worst web site I use. It seems to be getting worse and worse. And I flippin' pay for this? WTF? Im saddened that I have invested so much in this service for the last 15 years or so...

Seriously. Yahoo, you need to make your website to access mail much faster. It's abysmally slow in every format: loading an email, checking the boxes on the left, trying to delete an email, trying to compose an email, etc.
I don't know what you have for a development team, but I would imagine a big company like yours, who started only doing email, would have the necessary staff to be able to make an efficient mail client.
How times have changed...
