I just switched to the new email format. Not only is it very 'busy' now....I like the streamlined look, but I filter a lot of emails into folders to keep the Inbox clean. The problem is, with the old format, I could go to the drop down above the email and click to 'filter messages like these'. With the new format, this is gone andf I have to go to settings, copy and save thew email address, then go to filters and paste it so I can filter the emails into a folder. Who thought it was a good idea to take a simple concept and make it so complicated? I am going to see if I can switch my email back to the original sleek and professional looking format. i think we should have this option. And so I can use the other filter system. I hope I can do this.

I found 100+ emails now in SPAM, and a few that went right to TRASH.
Who is in charge over there?
Agree with all the other comments - it worked well before, why take away functionality and convenience?

This is a huge downside to the new mail. Filtering should be a right click menu operation, certainly not buried. My Yahoo mail is practically unusable now; the few important messages I receive are buried in a sea of clutter.

Totally agree. The old mail was much better for setting filters. Please restore the old feature. It's next to impossible to set a filter in the new mail.

I don't like not being able to create filters inside a message, either. I made this video and sent it to Tech Support, and they told me to come post here. So I have voted on all options about the filters issue. I hope they put the filter option back in and also make it where when you create a filter, it automatically filters the messages that match the filter. Other email programs do that, there is no reason Yahoo can't. Here's the video I created.
I can't figure out how to filter emails at all anymore. Ack!

Why did you make filters so cumbersome to use? I really have to go in and out of multiple menus to add e-mails to a filter? I used to be able to click on the e-mail address and tell it to filter this e-mail. I really don't understand why you think the new system is better.

Yes it takes you to filters but it long winded trying to do it I go back to the classic its quicker. The new one take for to long.

Jake, if you click on More Settings below the appearance section, the choice to create filters is there.
The new design lacks the ability to create filters for your emails. The settings gear icon doesn't give any ACTUALLY USEFUL settings, only a bunch of useless appearance choices. The current Yahoo help page for creating filters is useless as it's legacy information that doesn't apply to the new design.

Bring back the filter for spam messages

Filtering was ok before. Harder now as there was no automated method. Whatever the case, it needs work. Either there needs to be a better explanation of the variables the filter can accept or the filter needs fixing to accept more varied arguments. Reason is I am having trouble organising the filters as well as condensing multiple rules that filter into the same folder.

Filters can only be set through the Settings option. As far as I can remember in the old Yahoo Mail, I was able to set up a filter by selecting an email from the inbox. It will automatically populate the fields with the sender's email address, the email subject etc.
