Having ads on the page is fine, but the ads are often animated and hence are very intrusive for the users. Also, the ad switches too frequently, this is also an intrusive and annoying element to your users.
Yahoo is simply making too many mistakes with the new mail, users will start switching over to Gmail, I'm sure.

Please STOP the flickering ads in my email box! I am 70 years old and the flickering ads really bother my eyesight!
AND I really don't need bathing suits for 20 year old girls!
I guess I'll just get AdBlock and you can complain about THAT!

The size of the right panel ads are too big and is very distracting when browsing emails. I understand that you might want to ads draw attention, but defeats the purpose of using the tool. I have been a yahoo email user for many years, but this new format is really dissapointing. I would also like to modify the screen colors, but the options are very limited. A color palette with options would be helpful.

I like the layout of the Classic Mail because it is easier to use to focus on while reading email. The new mail version is too bulky with the views slot and having Messenger, Contacts, Calendar, and Notepad on the right side of the preview panel for email. There is no way to go back to the Classic Mail because it is covered by the task bar. Yahoo should left the storage limit at unlimited storage before Yahoo decided to limit the storage to one terabyte for emails and folders and forces us to clear the folders to make room for new emails and makes it more difficult to save important mails. The Classic Mail is a simple layout without all the extra panels that are useless and taking up space that can only be block by Yahoo Wider Mail, Webmail Ad blocker, or Email Ad Suppression extensions on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers. The free version of Yahoo should be ad free and have wider mail panel like the Yahoo Mail Pro that I would have to pay a monthly plan at $3.49 or yearly plan at $34.99. I think customers that are disabled should have Yahoo Pro mail included with their Yahoo account, on all devices and browsers that they used on a daily basis and have priority customer support to solve any issue that we have without trying get help on the Yahoo Help Central page that tells you to contact them by clicking the Contact US link and going through steps and get told to go through the Yahoo Help Community or see product-related help articles to solve your problem without any help from Yahoo. Do you even care about the disabled customers? The only way to contact Yahoo Customer Care is by going on Facebook, Tumbler or Twitter to get help from a Yahoo Customer Care representative if they get back with you to help. Half the time you wait for a Yahoo Customer Care representative to get back with you saying that they cannot help you with your issue or do not get any help at all which leaves you with your issue. Yahoo, please leave things alone that are fine and do not need to be updated to cause more problems and quit forcing us to use the new Yahoo Mail if we do not want to use it if we are used to the old Yahoo Mail.
