I admit I have not logged into this email account for a while, maybe about six months or so, but I come back and see that all my emails are gone? That is kinda one of the most basic things an email service is supposed to do isn't it? Hold onto emails? And if you guys were going to dump all my emails it seems like I should of gotten some notice or some warning... or some chance to save those emails.
I hope yahoo will be able to resolve this matter.
If an account is unused or dormant for 12 months, it is deactivated and its emails are deleted, more info here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN2018.html
If this does not apply to you, You can try doing a search or doing an email restore if the email was deleted in the past 7 days.
In case you are using a mail client such as Outlook or the Native mobile app, emails may be deleted by that third party client. We do recommend accessing your mail via http://yahoo.com or the Yahoo Mail app to avoid this issue.

I had my Yahoo account since 1998 (22 years from now). I logged into my account after like a year on 13 mars 2020.
When, I logged in and opened, everything was gone.. I had emails of 22 years and everything in it..
Now, I want it back. What is the best way to get it back. Someone can help your this friend over here ... Plz
For a Start,
1) Those Emails were very extremely important to me.. 22 years of data.. I could not log in for a long time due to some circumstances.
2) And Now that only 2 days have passed since I last logged in, and not yet completed 7 days... are their any chances of retrieving the data.. yahoo gives 1 TB of space for what if it has to delete all the data on it's own without giving the permission to do so.
3) Can you or anyone else has Yahoo's email or whatsapp whom I can contact and ask for my query. very very very important to me.

Hello, what happened to you Yahoo ? I see that my e-mails got wiped out. This is unpardonable. I had these e-mails from 2003/2004 all the way.

When I was 9 years old I created my first e-mail account at yahoo.com. I've been having this account for the past 19 years. Back at then I didn't save pictures or text on USB, but on my yahoo. Little did I know when I realized I week ago that you had deleted all my childhood memories. I couldn't log in with my normal password. And when I received a new password, with help of verification methods. I logged in and a new inbox was created, completely empty. What a shock! I have been logging into the mail and keeping it active several times a year.
Don't you see history of logins over the past years when you decide to delete e-mail accounts? You must have other parameters than rigidly deactivating accounts that hasn't been logged in for 12 months. IN MY CASE LESS THAN THAT. I'm guessing my last login was maybe 6 months ago (August/September). What happens if an accountholder gets in a accident and a long-term unplanned hospital-visit?
My account was verified to my phone and other more frequent used mail. Couldn't you sent an reminder e-mail? Notified your account holders?
I'd be more happy to pay monthly if I would have know that this might save my data for longer. Or have supported Yahoo financially in other ways for your services, since I have been loyal to you since 2001.
I would like my data/content such as e-mail and pictures back!

I signed in my email after a long time (2 or 3 years) but my emails are missing, and i had Instagram send a verification code to recover my old account but I'm not receiving said mail. Though I am getting emails from friends, subscriptions, etc.

I did not erase them and would like them back. I literally have 0 messages...

Don't charge people for basic customer service support. I have an old account (just reactivated) that I need help with for time sensitive legal reasons and just want to know if old emails are archived and even accessible. A standard 800# and/or live chat like everyone else seems to have seems like a basic tool that you should not have to pay for.
