Right Side Panel (Contacts, Starred, Etc)
There should be a way to remove the contact box on the right. This feature is useful when two windows (one is yahoomail) are displayed side-by-side. During these situations, window real estate is valuable.

Whoever came up with this idea, should be fired ASAP, right after you fire the CEO for approving this debacle. Now, I will have to scroll horizontally when reading an email and get carpal tunnel. There should be an option for us to hide this. Reading an email is more important, then seeing your contacts and starred emails. This is not ergonomic. Very disappointing. This also questions how good is your IT department and security. Why would you change something that is not broken??

Is there a way to Remove the Starred Contacts section on the right or be able to hide that? This is not necessary and now I have to scroll horizontally to read my email. This is not ergonomic.

I agree with this and actually came here to post this. The big empty space to the right is unnecessary. It would be nice if there was an adjust column for it or if it was the same size as it was previously. The way it is now it cuts off the sender name. I might have to switch to gmail just so I don't have to open each email to see who it is from. Please revert this part back to the way it was before! Who did you get to test out these new features? Some of these moves are terribly designed.

Yahoo should have tested the new format before we are forced to use the new format. I cannot believe they call this new format an improvement.
whom did they ask for advice or who tested the new format? -

The majority of my screen is now panels for features I do not use, which renders my inbox pointless as it can no longer be used to read emails easily. On my laptop, the email window is less than 500x500 px, which is unacceptable. I previously opted out of the redesign specifically because of this, but my opt-out was overridden. It is imperative that users be able to collapse unused columns taking up unnecessary real estate on their inbox.

Please give us a way to collapse the large box on the right. It takes up about a third of the screen with useless information and forces me to use the right/left scroll bar to read new messages. It's ridiculous that on an email site I can't see my email!

The reason I signed up for the paid version was to get rid of the giant box on the right taking up a third of the screen and making my email viewing in a narrow panel. Now the giant box is back, but with starred email or contacts in it! Please make a way for me to collapse that box. If it's going to be there anyway, I might as well cancel my paid subscription. The ads are more interesting than my list of contacts.

Fancy graphics (columns, boxes, rows, etc) should be removed to allow bigger viewing panel.
For example, the column under Yahoo logo (Compose, folders, starred, etc.) is way too big. That entire column should be reduced. Also it should give the option to change the functions listed)

I can't read my emails without using the lower slide bar due to this panel. How did this design element ever get off the ground? Sounds like the typical developer malicious compliance, overdelivering in complexity what the brass wants so they can be paid to fix it later. Job security, ftw.

Too much fancy graphic reduces the reading panel. Allow the side box of Starred, Contact, More to be turned off to allow bigger reading panel. Put these choices as icons on the right side so we can use it as needed.

Message layout where STARRED and CONTACT details section should have option to minimize so we would have more area to work upon on devices with small screen

I have both Yahoo and Gmail - Gmail does NOT take up this much desktop space for a column of starred emails, or contacts. Some may use it regularly, so leave it an option. But why would you make this mandatory for those who don't use these features?

on a laptop, the e-mail panel, with its left stack and right preview is ridiculously small. Half of the screen is useless and one cannot see e-mails properly.

I want to minimize/eliminate the starred e-mails/contacts field that is rendered on the right side of my e-mail home page. I don't use it and it wastes too much space on my GUI and I don't want it. I called help desk and they did not know how to minimize it.

HI Duane, please make sure you are checking the other threads before creating a new one! We will merge this one with one that already exists. Thanks!

I don't like how the starred and contacts column takes up so much room. I don't care to look at these all the time. I would much prefer to have that room for the body of the email. I wouldn't mind a tab that would pull that info up and then recede when I was done with it.

Please remove or have the option to remove the third column with the Starred email. I can only read part of the center section with the actual email content while using a desktop or laptop computer without having to scroll left/ right to read an email. The new layout is so inefficient for getting through my email.
I have now moved to just using apple email application on my desktop since the yahoo mail internet options is so horrible with the changes.
So, so bad now.

I understand the need to have ads in order to keep non-plus mail free, but the ads are never as wide as the pane, and was narrower in the older version. Please consider narrowing the pane to allow more real estate for actual mail reading.

How do I get rid of the pop-up box on the right-hand side of the screen?
