Right Side Panel (Contacts, Starred, Etc)
There should be a way to remove the contact box on the right. This feature is useful when two windows (one is yahoomail) are displayed side-by-side. During these situations, window real estate is valuable.

Agreeing with other comments here: I need to be able to toggle the right side panel closed so the mail window is wide enough to see the full mail preview panel. I'm using a 13" MacBook, and that right panel takes up too much space. Allow us to hide it or toggle it. This makes using Yahoo Mail painful. I don't want to give up on Yahoo Mail after many years, but this will drive me away unless it is quickly fixed.

I agree with the other comments here. The right side panel is too wide and makes it so I can't actually see my whole email in the reading pane on my Macbook Air. Either make it more narrow or more responsive to the actual width of the display, or give me the ability to collapse it.

The right side panel wastes UI space on a Mac Laptop. I can not realistically preview emails, which makes the whole experience unusable; please remove it or at least make it collapsable... This alone sent me back to "classic"

in the updated version, the right panel containing the contact box takes almost 1/3 of the total width of my browser, and this 1/3 part contains mostly unimportant things--forced to be listed there. that is ridiculous.

Need the ability to collapse horizontally the right side panel with "Starred, contacts" so the reading pane can take that space and read the full width of the email on a laptop screen. That is a ton of screen space that is wasted if the user is not using starred emails or viewing contacts. This is an email app, reading email should be the main objective and easy to do. Horizontal scrolling is not acceptable. Bad UX.

This is important for me as well.

I do not use the side (right) column for Starred and Contacts, yet it takes up a significant portion of the inbox width. Therefore when messages are opened, they can only open in a smaller window. Please have the option to hide it or move those categories to the left column.

Just allow the right hand container to collapse ">>" into a non-obtrusive pencil bar with icons that expands out again when you click on icons or hover over tabs like contacts or starred. Problem solved, maintains functionality without taking up inbox real estate.
Also - I'm requesting a notepad tab that actually allows you to jot down notes right there in the right hand pane of the inbox, currently it takes you to a different page. but to have "notes to self" that show up on the side of my inbox whenever I check my email would be fantastic!

Also I would like to make the main email box larger or smaller. The first email I opened has to be shifted to the right to read it. This is 2024! I should only have to scroll up or down to read text on a screen, not left or right.

The current design fights against user flexibility in personal choice of various windows.

Thanks Tina! We appreciate the feedback. Another Community Member already suggested this piece of feedback so we are going to merge this one with that thread! Make sure you read the other threads before creating one. We don't want so many duplicates. Thanks!

Make this an optional view. I do not need to see my "Starred" and "Contacts" persistently displayed. It eats up valuable real estate. Just want to focus on my emails.

Yes Yahoo Mail Team, please give the option to remove the "Starred and Contacts" box at the right of the screen. As it is I can only read half of the email subject line which is very frustrating and forces me to go back to classic mail.

I think Miguel mis-spoke. This feature is **not** useful when two windows are being displayed side by side because then the real-estate that remains to work with is 1/2 what it used to be. Therefore this blank (for me) box where starred messages or contacts might be displayed is taking up approx 1/3 of the right side of the screen for no good reason, cutting off the valuable information in the email section of the screen. One just needs the ability to collapse that right column, or turn it off permanently in settings. IMO

The Starred and Contact box needs to be removed. It's taking up too much space that could be used for the mail's subject, and beginning. Starred? Never use it. Contacts can be put where they have always been...at the left.

It's amazing you would dedicate 1/3 of the screen to something that is blank 99% of the time (starred messages) or useless (all contacts). At the expense of only being able to read 4-5 words of the subject line and half the user name.
Please tighten up the interface, remove whitespace down the left hand side, eliminate/hide the right side box, so that the main content we are actually here for (the messages) has enough room to be usable. Design it so at about 640 pixels wide you can read entire usernames and most of the subject heading and have the remaining fields usable.

I dont' see the "SETTINGS" gear. I want to turn off the right side panel that takes up about 1/3 of the screen. It makes a main purpose of email - scanning subject lines - impossible. Only 2 or 3 words show up.

Thanks Miguel. We really appreciate the feedback. You mean the Starred AND Contacts box. So you'd like to remove it, collapse it or even in general make it more narrow?
