Coming Soon: Default to "ALL" Instead of "Priority"
I will often let Offers and Newsletters pile up for a while, then go through them all in one go. But, annoyingly, if I open a message from, say, the Newsletters view, then move the message to a folder, I get put back into Priority view - argh! It should return to the most recent view I was using (Newsletters).

I've missed multiple important emails before realizing I was looking at some arbitrary "Priority" label as the default view. While I'm extremely frustrated, I'm more amazed that a professional product and software team would release a restricted view as a default unannounced to customers. I feel like you're purposely pushing me away towards other email providers and after decades of use that's disappointing.

Defaulting to a non-user selected filtering is BAD design and development. The user needs to select filtering and defaults.

OMG you change it to ALL emails - and every time you open an email it defaults back to PRIORITY
You change the settings to get rid of the TABS - and it changes NOTHING
Your email sniffer is akin to NSA sniffers and it illegal - just get rid of your priority AI filtering

Priority inbox is a terrible idea and should be removed. I want to see all emails in my inbox. Junk goes to junk files and if I choose to look at it I can. I don't need yahoo deciding which emails are my priority. Please stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes a new ideas are not good ideas. Also you have removed our ability to opt out of newer version of email. It would be nice to be able to use the version we want and not the new version.

Just go back to the previous version. Nothing else matters. We like Yahoo, not this Gmail clone you've made.

Not trying to be smart aleck, but what gives Yahoo the right to determine what is priority and what's not. My inbox should be customizable to what I want to see and where. I am seriously going to stop using my Yahoo accounts and only use my Gmail accounts. No freedom to use your own account. I know that it's a free account, but still. You gave access to make changes, then instead of changing things gradually, you took away all customization. I don't care about extra inboxes for newsletters or offers or social. All email should come to one inbox and I decide if they should be put in a category.

Please make "All" permanent. It is so annoying to half to click it so often.

"ALL" should be the automatic default. Yahoo AI has no business deciding what it thinks my priorities are! They're often completely wrong and I need to go check the All folder anyway, which defeats whatever purpose they thought this had. This was definitely someone being a "Good Idea Fairy" who was under pressure to come up with something new. No, just no. Let me see all my emails.

every time i check my email i have to change from "priority" to "all" to see all of my emails. once i choose "all", it should stick. i always want to see all and it's annoying i have to select it every time i check my email.

Priority is decided by AI not me. This is wrong. Yahoo should not be making my decisions. Period! AI can never know what is important to me.

Default to priority was one of the WORST updates!! I'm missing messages constantly because I have to click the button to see everything. What Yahoo deems as priority isn't what I deem as priority. Why are you deciding?? I'm finding myself calling about shipping notices or to friends that haven't answered a critical note...all of them telling me the email was sent. What do you know...Yahoo decided it wasn't important enough to be in my priority box. OMG...Fix this!!!!

The default view should be to see all messages, not only"priority" whatever that means.
The user is switched to this new UI and most people will think they are looking at all email because that's how it worked before and they're not.
The default should always be to do the safe thing.

I don't even check my email because it says that I don't have any emails, but then I check it because I haven't had an email in a while only to find there is 15 or more emails because they were not in the 'priority' folder and I forget to click on the 'all' folder. By this time some of them are a little old. It is a good thing that they weren't important. Who makes these changes anyway?

I could write a better GUI in my sleep. Yahoo devs should be fired for sheer incompetence.
And seriously, default to ALL is so goddam f#$Cking basic that you should just abandon the entire company if you couldn't figure that out.

not only does it go back to the stupid priority view (who set the priority levels? because they are not correct for me) also when it goes back to that view, the top 2-3 emails are covered by the ad (oh yea- it is not supposed to have ads)

After writing feedback about 15th times and finally get a response from an Ariana whose suggestion is back to giving feedback. As if she didn't read any part of my feedback? Where the heck is Elon? What a waste..!! I've cut and paste some of my feedback before...I need an answer of how to get back the older version of email please!!!
out of my 5 Yahoo email accounts 3 have been changed to your new email and 1 this one had been changed a year ago.to another format.... I have filled out feedback on those 3 begged for help.
Being almost 70 years I despise these young people who think they can take a new thing and make it better when it's just different not better...for example why can't I default and choose "all" as a default instead of "priority" which you may think is better I am so frustrated where you think you know better of what I want and make these changes.
I may have to switch all 5 to Gmail and then just learn 1 new format. -

I said it all - your system to determine what is Priority - is an invasion of privacy. I did not authorize yahoo to review my emails and place them where they think it goes
-
Craig Carrillo commented
YOU CLEARLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GOES IN THERE AND IT IS CAUSING US TO LOSE EMAILS - PUT IT BACK AND STAY OUT MY EMAIL -
it is illegal for you or your system to monitor my emails - that is what Priority does

Jill Montgomery commented
I like the old version way better than this one.

I think I should get to decide what emails are priority and not you
